Upcoming OV's...

Sounds like the Ducks do not have any official visitors coming up in the next couple weeks. To me this says a couple things.

  • They are very close to full. If not full, willing to stand pat with what they have.
  • If they do get any more OV's it would be in the last two weekends
  • Likely anybody else they get to commit has already visited.
  • But you never know. Could get a late visit from somebody...
  • Could there be another silent? I don't think so but possible.
  • If they free up any scholarship room it would be for an elite prospect.
  • This all should give the coaches more time to pursue 2021 and beyond guys.

Jamie Newman Update

So, here is just a little bit of information. I felt this morning that Georgia was the leader for Newman for a simple reason; in a recent interview he said: "The RPO game is cool, but it's only a little bit of the NFL, and I think I need to work a little bit more on NFL pro concepts and being able to check protections and stuff like that." (The Athletic)

What does Oregon run? A LOT of RPO. Georgia portends to run more of a pro-style offense. I expected Fromm to leave and it is now official

In all honesty, I thought it was a long shot here, but the departure of Fromm makes this seem like a no brainer.

Chip Long

So, I believe he is now out of the picture as OC.

Why? Because 2 SEC offensive coordinator spots are about to be open and I think he is on the short list for at least one of them.

Steve Sarkisian is likely to get his shot at redemption as HC of Mississippi State and some feel Long will be his guy as OC; but that also leaves the OC position at Alabama open.

We will see if Bama goes that direction, but Long appears to be off the board for Oregon - and maybe the Huskies as well.

Oregon still doing work in the Midwest for 2020

Kansas City DB Dontae Manning may not be the last Midwest prospect Oregon lands in this 2020 class. Four-star St. Louis OL Jalen St. John told me this week that Cristobal reached out and the Ducks are in-play for his Jan. 24 official visit. I am also hearing about a four-star Midwest skill position player things are picking up with and an official visit could be set there. I will share more light on that one when I am able. More on St. John's recruitment in the article linked below:
