Kiana Phelps says hi from Iowa

I can tell you that Kiana is a really friendly and likable person. She is also a brilliant student who had her choices of some Ivies, Stanford, and Duke. Her life long dream was to be a Duck. She was ready to commit to Duke when she got the call offering her a scholarship at Oregon. She cried on the spot because she was so thrilled.

And take a look at that URL.

In large part, this is the LA Times beat writer preaching to the faithful, but in the end it is the same as Finebaum, Danielson, ESECPN, and the rest of them. When the available bandwidth is filled with propaganda, there isn't room for anything else.

What is the story? SC has Donte, SC is working hard, SC realized its recruiting operation was a dumpster fire, so the guy who poured the gasoline into the dumpster and tossed a match found some scapegoats and made some big changes, including adopting basic modern things like graphics and social media. That's enough. Order will be restored.

Oh, there's one more thing. Mighty SC will benefit because the pandemic will make it harder for players to leave southern California.

The story left out, SC will lose by 40 to Alabama to start the season, SC's coach is going to be fired, Urban is not coming, and things have changed in the Pac 12 and elsewhere.

Many people think SC is "supposed" to dominate. So if seemingly supportive "evidence" appears, people lap it up.

Funny that the most positive factor for SC might be the cancellation of the season. If it is cancelled, those claiming SC has emulated UW and is "back" won't have to confront the reality of a blowout loss to Alabama, plus at Stanford, ASU, at Utah the rest of September (after a game against New Mexico).

Who you got, Addison or Williams

This assumes a lot, for example 2-3 other guys who have the potential to markedly improve. It does seem like these two are the most likely to fill the role of a bigger target. I like Addison's potential a lot, and he's really fast for his height. Problem was he had a few drops that seemed to come from "hearing footsteps," lack of muscle mass to withstand brutal hits when catching or inability to hold on to Herbert's fast balls. Can Addison put on 10-15 lbs and be that guy? Seems to me Williams has the inside track, but both should get snaps.
