OT: USC's 5 star MBB recruit suffered cardiac arrest this Summer

Sucks for him. He was supposed to be the next great USC big man. I guess they are finally releasing the info now due to team practices having started. At 7'1" that's a lot of work for his heart.

Great article- a comparison of two teams on Saturday

Stojakovic Down to Four

The class is already solid, but this kids has BB in his blood and might actually be around a couple of years. Not sure UO scores high on places "easy to get to" from Europe. How much that really matters, who knows.
Not sure, but I think UO is still in the running for Bronny as well.

Freshman Students Arrive On Campus

This years freshman class set many records. It is the most ethnically diverse in school history. They boast an average GPA of 3.76. They come from all over the US and of corse the world. It is by far the largest class in school history, surpassing last year’s record freshman class by 16%

In the article appearing in Around The O it lists a small sampling of the entering students. One of the students is a guy from De La Salle in Corcoran CA ( Bay Area) , by the name of ANTHONY TRUCKS. He says that his parents went to Oregon, and stated track and field opportunities as his reason for selecting Oregon. Anthony finished 6th in the state 110 hurdles.

I will bet dollars to doughnuts his father is the former football player by the same name.

Dismissing Stanford?👀

It seems many Duck fans are dismissing Stanford in their upcoming matchup with Oregon this week. Take a look at Stanford’s stats in the last two games and you will see a balanced offense that can move the ball.
The biggest difference in both of those games was several turnovers by the cardinals.

This game could be another close battle?

🦆Go Ducks!!!

Excellent Inside Read Observations

Scott- excellent observations and commentary in the Inside Read.

From the comfort of my couch for these first few games the one thing that has struck me is the play of the O line. Your comments today reinforce what I thought I was seeing. Of course the TV broadcast rarely shows specifics when it comes to trench play, but a couple of times on Saturday the replays truly showed how well the O line was sustaining blocks. You are spot on in your assessment IMO about the O line being better coached. Not an attempt on my part to speak ill of the departed but just an observation.

Also yesterday in your Fifth Quarter you hit upon something that has resonated with me as well. I think there truly has been a major culture shift within the program and I think that is due to the way DL has approached things. One of the things I was told by someone inside the AD a few months ago was that 'there is a whole different vibe around football'. When I asked what was meant by that the reply was 'it's just different, I can't explain it but it is so much better'. I wish I could have delved deeper but I wanted to be respectful.

The bottom line, I think we can all agree things are different and while there will be some bumps in the road, at the moment things seems to be headed in the right direction. Time will certainly tell.
