Flock Talk: Strength to go on

So, today, we took a look at the commitment of Deommodore Lenoir - the eighth known commit in the last 5 weeks is the biggest 'fish' yet in the suddenly resurgent recruiting. I talked a little bit more about the manner in which the synergistic relation of this staff is starting to pay some dividends.

I also took a look at another very important topic. We write about football - recruiting specifically - but that does not negate that football is a diversion. Real life is happening all around us and the story of Brenda Tracy going to Lincoln and meeting Mike Riley, face-to-face; speaking with his football team; it is a powerful story which needs to be re-visited.

I had some brief correspondence with Brenda for this piece and she is very supportive of the article and thankful. She said that a lot of 'small impacts' can create a bigger impact. There have been some fabulous stories, most recently a story in the Washington Post detailed her trip to Lincoln well. I cannot hope to have a voice as strong or broad as the Post, but as a writer, I feel compelled by duty to do my part.

We only have a short burst of light with which to work in this thing we call life, and it is in that burst which i look to make my mark.

I hope you all enjoy. This is 'Premium' Content, for the recruiting aspects, but, please, share the part about Brenda; talk with others about the topic. People may disagree with my take, but talking about it creates the education Ms. Tracy says is 'paramount.'

Thank you all for your time.

Flock Talk: Strength to go on

New commit...

Four-star ATH Deommodore Lenoir (who will probably play corner/safety) has committed to Oregon.

Lenoir is a very talented prospect who has the physical tools to be special at corner and the instincts and hitting ability to make an impact at safety. There are more sudden, quicker corners in the country but Lenoir is very talented and a really nice pick-up.

It could also help with other SoCal prospects - teammate Rahyme Johnson possibly, four-star speedster Jaylon Redd and others.

Sampson Niu...

The 4-star ILB visited here these last few days and from what we are hearing really enjoyed everything about it.

Sampson Niu profile

Obviously this would be a very nice get for the Ducks. We have him at 6-0 and 200 in the DB but I think he is bigger than that. He would need to be to be a MLB at this level.

Niu will be announcing one week from today. Current DSA odds: 61.536%
