I agree with most of offense, however, I'd sub DAT for Samie Parker. In fact, personally, I'd take Huff over Samie Parker. Also, its pretty hard to leave Stewart off of team.

On defense, Michael Clay has to be a part of that team. I'd also insert TJ Ward and Ifo for Smith and Lewis.

Also, hard not to include Walter Thurmond at corner. Maybe Thurmond over Ifo.

It's a conversation starter, at least.

Check out some nice plays by Duck targets:

Tyjon Lindsey:
0:12 (catch and gone)
2:02 (goes up against Molden, gets the catch but not much else)
6:39 (duplicate of 2:02 play)

Joseph Lewis:
0:16 (good separation and catch)
2:39 (covered very well and unable to bring it in on the inside move)
3:14 (long ball, tries to go up for slightly underthrown ball)

Josh Falo:
0:27 (uncatchable)
1:46 (gets open, like he did all day in 7on. He was one of the top TE out there)
2:48 (doesn't pick up a lot of yards, but still makes the catch and holds on with the contact)

Elijah Molden:
0:35 (slips then recovers, took a hit in the head)
2:02 (sticky coverage on Lindsey, only ended up giving up a couple yards)
6:39 (duplicate of 2:02 play)

Jalen Hall:
0:39 (poorly thrown ball, but covered well, by another Duck offer Jalen Kelly-Powell)
1:10 (nice little comeback move to beat his defender)
1:52 (beats his guy at the line, but slightly off balance after and an overthrow by qb)
2:22 (solid catch [or near miss] by Hall, going down to attempt the catch)

Thomas Graham Jr.
0:46 (pretty good coverage by Graham, but Grimes looks to have pulled it in)
2:09 (blanket coverage on Trey Blount)

Joseph Lewis:
0:53 (shows some nice moves and shakes off his defender)

Tre McKitty:
0:59 (gets USC commit Bubba Bolden off balance and grabs the ball for a big gain)

Connor Wedington:
1:37 (played db, although Ducks like him at RB, shows good coverage)
2:30 (gets beat pretty good by very athletic Darnay Holmes)

Jeremiah Holloman:
3:25 (nice move to pick up a few yards)

Deommodore Lenoir:
3:47 (not much to do on a very short pass)
4:38 (tough cover in the center, would likely have help in that situation)

Oliver Martin:
4:02 (gives William Poole the shake, and makes an great catch with both feet in)
5:41 (gets open like he did over and over again in 7on)

KJ Hamler:
4:21 (db had to respect his speed, made for a easy comeback route)
5:57 (runs away from his coverage for a catch)
6:14 (slips a bit on the comeback, not able to catch it)

BJ Foster:
4:25 (allows a short reception to TE)

2017 QB vacuum

watching the opening, Tua has stood out a lot against the competition. Strong, accurate arm, along with the ability to quickly process, go through reads, and finally great instincts. I've heard our lack of offering may of been because of grades. Now with a offer, he reports he still rarely hears from our coaches. I'm just watching, and listening to this kid wondering what is actually happening. Scott, what is really going on? This scenario kinda reminds me of Travis Jonsen (except the grades issues) where the Ducks chased around a lot of other QBs before taking Travis. Like Travis, Tua was all Ducks for a couple of years, and like Travis has turned into a terrific QB. Shouldn't we be putting a full court press on Tua? Just asking

Fourteen Ducks (at least) headed to Rio....

in track. Ten for the US, three for Canada, and one for Greece.

Men USA
Galen Rupp Marathon & 10,000
Devon Allen 110H
Ashton Eaton Decathlon
Cyrus Hostetler Javelin
Sam Crouser Javelin
Matt Centrowitz 1,500

Women USA
English Gardner 100
Deajah Stevens 200
Jenna Prandini 200
Phylis Francis 400

Canada Men
Johnathan Cabral 110 H
Chris Winter Steeplechase

Canada Women
Briane Thiessen-Eaton Heptathlon

Greece Women
Alexi Pappas Steeplechase

PS -- I should probably mention that I got most of this list from a poster on another board. I also wanted to mention that the six Duck men won a total of 6 national championships and that both Cabral and Thiessen-Eaton won Canadian national championships.

OT: Personal note to DSA...

Well here is a message I never expected to write. For the last six months or so I have been experiencing strange pain in my chest/back/stomach varying in severity by many degrees, quite unpredictable. I went through many, many tests but they were all coming back inconclusive.

Finally my doctor ordered an angiogram last Thursday which is the gold standard of heart tests though very expensive/invasive. So they stuck a camera up my femoral artery...and a few hours later that test was very conclusive. Heredity had wronged me in a major way. Later Thursday night I had an emergency quadruple bypass surgery on my heart.

I did not want to write until I knew more about what was going to happen but now things are clear. Although I am in intense discomfort as is normal for these things, my prognosis is 100% recovery. In fact I should feel better than I have in decades within a few weeks.

I am very excited that I will finally be my full A.J. again once I recover. But it will take a little while as they 'harvested' my own arteries in my legs and arms for the bypasses in addition to cracking open my chest like an egg. I'm not going to detail it further because it is unnecessary and frankly depressing to me on the surface.

What this will mean to DSA isn't too much although Brandon will be covering the Opening this week with a hired gun rather than me. I will be at DSA HQ coordinating the coverage. I should be totally fine by Fall camp. Brandon and Scott will be picking up whatever slack I have to leave in the meantime.

I am very grateful to have you members and you admins of DSA in my life. You are what is going to the entertainment portion of my recovery. I look forward to diving in deep with you into this year's team as well as continuing with this very interesting recruiting class. Thank you all for your loyalty and friendships.

These next few days I'll be in and out of the boards but rest assured we will deliver some great stuff to you from the Opening.

Talk to you all soon.

All for now.

A.J.

Busting out content from The Opening

Apologies for not getting this up earlier, but this week has been a perfect storm with AJ being back home, my phone being broken, and questionable internet connections. The way they have everything set up, it was nearly impossible for me to catch more 7on action (got to watch one game today). Trying to interview, take pics and post is a bit crazy, but posting a bit was possible thanks to a new phone. Spent the last 3 hours uploading video and photos, and have many interviews. To start off the fun, here is Josh Falo:

Jarett Stidham

De-committed from Baylor today.

Will have to sit out a year if he transfers.

It was widely believed that it was down to Oregon and Baylor a couple of years ago and he chose Baylor.

Threw for over 400 yards in a game last year after the starter went down with an injury.

Ranked as the #2 dual threat QB his senior year in HS.

Any chance the Ducks give him a call?..........

quotes from Tua and Sears

From Oregon Live:

Sears:

"They've got something in store," Sears said. "They've taken their time since Kelly decommitted. We'll see what happens with them."

Tua:

"Oregon is still up there, but I'm not too sure with everything," he said. "I haven't gotten to see the campus and I haven't stayed in contact with the coaches that well, so it's kind of hard to tell."

On the surface....doesn't sound like the Ducks are very interested in these two....

Hard to believe that though.
