Thomas Graham and Jasmin Reed

This post is just wonderful news for Oregon Track! Although Jasmin is remaining tight lipped with the media regarding her college decision, the "many more to come" kind of makes it obvious that she's going to be a Duck. It's hard to have "many more to come" if they will be in different parts of the country on Feb 14. We now know that Graham was a silent Arizona commit. Jasmin had an Arizona offer...I'll bet that when Oregon offered Jasmin, they both decided to switch from Arizona to Oregon. May they both become All Americans!

Looks like we have our new WR coach (for real)

Oregon: The Kings Academy (CA) head coach Michael Johnson will join the Oregon staff as wide receivers coach, according to Scout.com’s Sam Webb. Johnson was set to join the Michigan staff earlier this week. Johnson has been at TKA since 2014 and coached in the NFL from 2000-10. His most recent college job was UCLA offensive coordinator in 2011.

Junior Day this Saturday...

I think this will be an exciting Junior Day for the Ducks. They have invited 15 of the region's best for the event and the list is a who's-who of Oregon (and a couple from Cali) high school football. I'm going to be verifying their attendance with them before I do names but will add to this thread as I do.

Lots of talent in the state this year. If the Ducks can land 5-7 of them for 2018 it will send a huge message about the future of the program.

Another Florida Guy Coming To UO

This one is an alumnus, billionaire and a graduate in the class of 1978.

The Duck who bought his dad’s side business for $10,000 in 1984 — and built it into the $27 billion global leader known as Tech Data — has contributed $5 million to create the University of Oregon’s first doctoral fellowship program, help fuel the President’s Success Fund and provide stipends for students in the UO’s human rights workshop program.

“This terrific support from Steve Raymund, one of our most innovative and successful alumni, will have an immediate effect,” said Michael H. Schill, UO president and professor of law. “We are inspired by his confidence in our mission and grateful for his personal involvement in realizing our vision for the university.”

Raymund, a 1978 economics graduate, will become UO Foundation chair in fall 2018.

Raymund chairs Tech Data, a Florida-based company that ranks No. 107 on the Fortune 500 and is enjoying its seventh straight year on Fortune’s list of World’s Most Admired Companies. It is among the largest global distributors of internet-based technologies, products and solutions

This sounds like great news for the university. He will bring his financial acumen and business savvy to help improve the University's foundation. Welcome Steve! Go Ducks!

Damyune Craig

Scott, sorry to bother you again, but I am wondering what, if anything, is happening on the possible Craig hiring. Is he still in play or is WT looking for another WR coach? I know Craig was visiting Oregon last weekend but since then I haven't heard a word. I guess I am probably being too inpatient. Thanks in advance for any input you can share.

D. Craig Update #2,347

Okay, not really, but this is what I have got for you.

It was reported last week that Craig was getting 'vetted' by Oregon. While there is some truth to that, keep in mind he has been on the Ducks radar since December, so there is a bit of a smokescreen with that thought process.

What I have been told is that the opportunity for Craig has been there for a while, but he is conflicted. He has reached out to several of his former colleagues looking for advice on what he should do with this career move. He has a big fat payout from LSU, the coaching staffs increase to 10 (most likely) later this year, and there will be renewed demand for coaches; especially coaches who can recruit and are available.

Craig has never left the southeast as a coach and has been checking out Oregon. Craig has a relationship with Taggart, but having already turned down Taggart at USF once, he wants to be absolutely positive that he makes the correct career move here.

We should know fairly soon what the answer is, so right now, all I can say is: patience.
