Snoop extends Panthers contract...

The Panthers signed Stewart to a one-year extension through 2018, the team's official website reports.

Previously entering the final season of a five-year, $36.5 million contract he signed in 2012, the 30-year-old running back was scheduled for a 2017 cap hit of $8.25 million. The extension likely redistributes some of that charge to 2018, ending any speculation about the possibility Stewart could be released. He had 218 carries for 824 yards (3.8 YPC) and nine touchdowns in 13 games last season, missing at least three contests for a fifth consecutive year. The Panthers could still select a running back early in the upcoming draft, as Stewart's age and injury history are cause for concern, while backfield mates Cameron Artis-Payne and Fozzy Whittaker both profile as complementary pieces.

Brown was part of a much-ballyhooed 2014 wide receiver class and chose Oregon over options like Vanderbilt, UCLA and others. Despite enrolling early at Oregon, Brown still redshirting and saw increased playing time as his career in Oregon moved along, catching seven passes in 2015 and 17 in 2016. After a coaching change in Eugene, Brown elected to move on and chose Northwestern as his new destination. Brown has already earned his degree and will have two seasons of eligibility with the Wildcats.

The state of Oregon has produced its share of prospects over the years, but it’s not exactly known for being a major talent hotbed. However, thanks to the new staff in Eugene, the Willamette Valley has gotten an injection of talent, via the offspring of the new Ducks coaches. Two sons of Oregon coaches, 2019 four-star quarterback Michael Johnson Jr. and 2019 athlete Raymond Woodie III, have relocated to Eugene to join their fathers, Michael Johnson Sr. (wide receivers coach) and Raymond Woodie (outside linebackers). Both recruits will attend Sheldon High School. The pair was in attendance at Sunday’s event and showed flashes of the talent that has both players in double-digits when it comes to offers. Despite the connection to the Ducks, both insisted that they are letting the recruiting process play out and will take several visits before making a final decision.

Small thing

So I was perusing the football roster on goducks.com last night and all the head shots are posted and something very interesting caught my attention. In stead of the usual polo shirts for the photos everyone has on a jacket, white shirt and tie. Now admittedly they probably shared the jackets and ties but it is much different than the more casual look in the past.

Maybe that 'culture' thing again.;)

The Stars of Saturday Night Live: Jaylen Waddle

Waddle scored 30 touchdowns for an offense that averaged 55 points a game at Episcopal High in Bellaire, Texas. He's one of the most exciting players in the country, and a confirmed visitor for Oregon's Saturday Night Live recruiting showcase.

Whoever wins the Waddle sweepstakes is getting an exceptionally dynamic player, and if he follows through on his visit plans the Oregon coaches will get three shots at making a turning point impression, the spring game, SNL and an official visit.
