Very informative.

Some of the highlights for me:

1. About MC:

“I would definitely say since he became head coach, he’s been a lot more transparent than the last staff but I wouldn’t even say the whole last staff, just certain people on the last staff who just wasn’t honest,” running back Tony Brooks-James said.

"He’s a lot more, how can I put it, interactive with us. He pushes us, he’s a great storyteller. He’s a guy that you kind of just want to run through a brick wall for."

2. The difference between conditioning this year and last:

Brooks-James described it as what the Ducks did under longtime coach Jim Radcliffe “but moreso on steroids.” Mitchell called it “difficult.”

“Last year was more just running and pounding, running up and down the field, I guess thinking that you could build your lungs up that way and that was basically it, just running up and down the field constantly,” Mitchell said.

3. Practice tempo:

While past UO teams practiced as fast as possible to get as many reps possible, teachable moments like Wednesday seem to be what Cristobal wants. He has said UO practices will have more individual teaching periods compared to last year.

4. M

4. Dillon Mitchell:

After two seasons playing wide receiver, Dillon Mitchell is transitioning to playing the slot role last held by Charles Nelson.

It wasn’t a shocking position switch: Mitchell played slot at times in high school and knew he would be making the switch as far back as last season.

5. Injuries

Niu will miss all of spring with injury suffered during Las Vegas Bowl. Hanson and safety Nick Pickett will miss the start of spring but are expected to return in April.

>> Last year’s debut in T-Mobile Arena saw event attendance records set for a quarterfinal session (Session 4 - 18,153), single session (semifinals - 19,224) and total session (86,910).

>> The Pac-12’s eight RPI top 75 and nine RPI top 100 teams are bettered only by the ACC (12, 11) and SEC (12, 9).
>> Nine NCAA RPI Top 100 teams would equal the most ever for the Conference (2015-16).

>> 61 games have been decided by single digits
>> 20 have been decided by one possession (3 pts. or less)

20-22 - Over the course of the past two Pac-12 Tournaments (2016 & 2017), 20 of the 22 contests have gone “chalk,” or in favor of the better seed.
>> The only upsets to occur came during the 2017 tournament with No. 5 seed CALIFORNIA beating No. 4 UTAH in the quarterfinals and No. 2 ARIZONA beating No. 1 OREGON in the title game.

Parker Stinson Tweet To team

Parker Stinson is the redhead in this photo. He was always a "balls to the wall" runner. He was recruited out of Austin which is home to another college track powerhouse program.

The men go in with zero chance of making the podium, but they go in as Oregon track athletes. They'll have a great team next year.....and they will run their guts out this weekend.....they're Oregon....they represent one of the most special traditions in college sports....Oregon Track....and no one was more of an over achiever than Parker.

Wednesday War Room: 3/7/2018

Okay, it's Wednesday so we have the war room ready.

Not a bunch of significant stuff, but some thoughts on off-field staff composition, plus the usual recruiting tidbits.

One thing, have not yet confirmed Langsdorf hire through independent sources outside of UO; but some thoughts on what the pursuit of guys like he (and Erickson) show about the manner in which Cristobal is approaching these hires.

Couple of other new 'promotions' which have gone unnoticed and/or unreported are also in the article.
