That's the kind of FG kicker Oregon needs.

Down by 10 in Hawaii with 3:48 to play, Arizona lines up for a 38-yard Field goal.

Kick good. Flag down. Delay of game. Back up 5 yards.

43 yds out. Kick good. Flag down. Illegal motion. Back up 5 more.

48 yds out. Kick blocked. Play whistled dead. Illegal motion. More home cooking in Aloha Stadium. Back it up again, 4th and 27, 4th attempt, from 53 yards.

And the AZ kicker splits the uprights to get the Mildcats within a touchdown.

How confident are you in the Oregon offense?

Auburn is now less than a week away.

Mario Cristobal's stated blueprint is to impose their will on opponents by dominating the line of scrimmage.

It's an old-fashioned model for college football, the kind you'd expect from a former offensive lineman and o-line coach with three national championship rings.

It runs counter to the direction of college football in general. In the Florida-Miami game earlier tonight, neither team netted 100 yards rushing. Midway through tonight's other game, Hawaii leads Arizona 14-7. The Rainbow Warriors have 38 yards rushing and the Wildcats 31.

The Ducks failed to reach the century mark in 4 of their games last year, 3 of them losses.

The 2018-19 national championship game was an aerial war between Trevor Lawrence and Tua T.

Nobody's having much success with ground and pound anymore. Even Stanford relied more on KJ. Costello than their running game last season.

Do you think Oregon will be able to run the football against Auburn and that very quick, physical defensive line?

Or is their best chance to win lie in putting the game on the arm of Justin Herbert? Keeping in mind that the Tigers have a very fast, experienced secondary too.

The Oregon coaches say they've broken down every play and tendency from last year and they've added some new wrinkles.

Do you expect improved variety and effectiveness next Saturday? Or more of the Pistol and one yard and a dark cloud of third and long?

The Ducks don't use it much anymore, but they can't hope to overwhelm the Tigers with tempo. Malzahn wrote the book on it.

Ty Hampton

Oregon track signed a javelin thrower last winter from North Bend Or. That isn’t news. However, Ty Hampton was injured his junior year and had not finished his senior season when he signed. Therefor we only had his sophomore results. Although he had a great sophomore season, his senior season launched Ty to the second ranked high school javelin thrower in the nation. He threw the javelin 222:11. I’m told that he has grown to a towering 6’6 height. If Ty can remain healthy, who knows to what heights his talents will take him!

Summing up the MBB Class, Sr's, Jr's, JC's, Grad Transfers, Transfers....

This must be one of the best groups of CBB players ever brought into a school in a single year. I just wonder how many will still be around after next season?

Moves Ducks up to no 15 pre-season per CBS. Imo, they might do much better than that if the guys can play as a team by season's end.

Chung gets himself in trouble...

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- New England Patriots safety Patrick Chung is scheduled to be arraigned next Wednesday on a charge of cocaine possession, according to the Belknap County attorney's office in Laconia, New Hampshire.

Chung, 32, was indicted on the charge Aug. 8, according to the attorney's office, which added that the incident occurred June 25.

An 11-year NFL veteran, Chung has been a key cog in the Patriots' defense as part of three Super Bowl championship teams. He has played in 140 career games, with 110 starts, and has 708 tackles and 11 interceptions.

Chung has not played in the preseason. He broke his arm in Super Bowl LIII and also reportedly underwent offseason shoulder surgery. He was not present at the team's Tuesday practice, after having been a regular participant in practices.

The Patriots issued a statement saying they were aware of the reports but would not comment further while "judicial proceedings take place."
