PAC 12 Bowl Watch

Something we can pull for besides the Rose Bowl is how well our much maligned conference is doing post season.

The indignities suffered by SC and Wazzu have been offset by the Dawgs and Bears beating the cheese out of MW and BIG foes. And something to make us modest about next season. the Dawgs did well in recruiting and Cal is bringing back Garbers and a senior group that will produce a chill on game days. And in the process beat a team the Ducks will face in the Rose Bowl.

Fact is, we're even now, with Utah taking on the Longhorns in the Alamo, tomorrow and our Ducks and ....Badgers.... mixing it up in Pasadena on New Years Day with the chances of reclaiming conference dignity. Yeah, our dignity. Something most pundits have thrown away like dirty underwear.

So, yeah! Utes, burn some Longhorn steaks in the Alamo, fer chrissake. And as for our Ducks, the only thing useful about Badgers is the fertilizer left after the rugs they were born to become are left after the smell abates.

So much fun...so much to reclaim...starting now.

HAPPY NEW YEAR, DSA BROS!!!

Noah is incredible!!!

Not only did Noah make an interception… He was 30 yards away from the line of scrimmage when he HIGH POINTED the ball! Pretty unbelievable for 270 pound beast. He also ran a fake punt for like 25 yards!

The commentators were absolutely Horrendous… Noah was in on numerous tackles and they only vocally credited him with one. He couldn’t even blitz, which is an important part of his game, since it’s an All-Star game.

When the East was on the 1 yard line, they lined up #1 Player in the country at running back & Noah stood in the hole to stuff him at the line! The very next play the ball was hiked over the quarterbacks head and returned for a 99 yard touchdown which would not have happened if Noah didn’t stuff a man even bigger than him, with a running start, at the goal line!

What’s amazing is Noah covers so much of the field and wisely knows when to put 100% effort in and when to conserve his energy.

He is absolutely a guy you cannot keep on the bench as he makes everyone around him better… #GoDucks!

Brady Breeze appreciation.....

Man this guy came in the local guy and most of us for the first year and a half thought he would never be more than a great ST player and part time safety! During his soph. year a light bulb went off and this year the whole row of lights have gone off. He is now playing at all conference level and I am thinking he has a very, very good chance of an NFL career.
What a story and man he saved our butts Wednesday!!!! Not saying others didn't contribute but Brady borrowing a nickname from Seattle went full "Beastmode" out there!!!

How bout a shout out to the Scout team this year!

Just a big hand and welcomed appreciation for all of the kids who played their hearts out on the Scout team to help this program get back to where it is today! I am sure they got rocked plenty of times during the season and hopefully provided a look that made the 2 deep even better. Congrats to those kids and their efforts.

Joe Moorhead

So, I don't know that either will reach out to each other, but Moorhead was an exceptional OC at Penn State and even before that at Connecticut (also a HC at Fordham).

He was not a great HC at Mississippi State; could not get control of some significant culture issues which is waht led to his dismissal. He would be a home run hire as OC, but I don't know that he would be a great 'fit' with Mario.

Frank Ponce: Thoughts

So, I know I mentioned him early on and I really like him as a coach. But saw some numbers today that impress me even more.

Louisville had their first EVER 1500 yard rusher this season.

Javian Hawkins: 264-1525 (5.8 ypc) and 9 TD
Cardinals also had another 500 yard rusher and a third player with 482 yards.
Combined the trio had 494 carries, 2508 yards, 5.1 ypc, 20 TD
Oregon trio had 388 carries, 2212 yards, 5.7 ypc, 18 TD

Their QB made remarkable strides this year... he was one pass away from qualifying for passer rating title. He had a QBR of 194.79 which would have finished with 156.81 QBR) placed him No. 2 in nation behind Burrow (Herbert finished with 156.81 QBR)

Clearly Oregon has really good talent; better than Louisvill, IMO, and I think Ponce could elevate what is already on the roster. While he may not have the name recognition, he would be another home run hire.
