Tight end shop

Redshirt junior tight end, 6-3, 234. Father played with Mario Cristobal at Miami. Former 3-star prospect.
Intriguing in that way, but there may be some problems with the eligibility clock and the back story.

Ducks have a depth issue at tight end unless Cam McCormick is fully healthy or Spencer Webb's body development allows him to achieve his potential. Scott reported on the War Room that he's up to 255.

Ohio DB schedules spring game visit

Cincinnati CB Devonta Smith has scheduled a visit to Oregon for the spring game April 18, and plans to spend at least a couple nights in Eugene. Also, this will not be an official visit, so he is going out there on his own dime. Oregon is a recent offer for Smith, who is closing in on 30 total offers. He has some interesting comments in the article below about what he is looking for in a school:

Jackson Light...

Oregon committed OL Jackson Light is the other OL who is visiting this weekend we are featuring today. I spoke with him before camp and this is the interview here. I'll post our photos below. I also videoed several of his 1v1 clips and will compile them into one clip and post below.

Overall I was very impressed with him. He gets the ball out and gets his hands up quickly. He has a good strong base to work with and kept some powerful DL away from the 'QB' in the drills. His ability to move laterally while engaged is excellent for an interior lineman.

Would have loved to see some pulling drills.

I did not see him get beat once in the ten or so 1v1 reps I saw. He is very strong and athletic for his size, and kept guys his size or sometimes bigger/longer off their line.

His size will be just fine at center or guard but I would love for the Ducks to develop him as a center which is the position that can take him furthest in football.

He needs to get a little more flexible in his hips and learn to keep his hands inside better but overall excellent day for him.

Malik Agbo...

One of the visiting OL targets this weekend is Federal Way, Washington offensive lineman Malik Agbo. I spoke with him in LA and will post the video of that interview on this thread as well as pictures we took of him at the camp.

He is a great looking 2022 prospect who the Ducks have offered and will be one of their top OT targets next cycle. Massive guy with nice feet for his size, my favorite part about him is his personality which you will see in the interview. Oregon should be a serious contender here though who knows with UW nearby him.

Back in Eugene...in time for Spring Football...

Finally back in town even if it is 15 hours later than anticipated.

Spring camp starts on Thursday so that is something we can look forward to. Practices will be closed except for the warmups so we won't get too many looks at the newcomers. But at least we can get some photos. Cristobal will also be taking questions after practice on Thursday so I'll be there for that.

Do you guys have any questions you would like me to ask Coach?

MBB: Cal game notes...

Oregon Communications sent out game notes for the Cal game.

No. 13 Oregon takes aim at the Pac-12 regular season title when the Ducks host the Bay Area schools this week. First up is California Thursday at 8 p.m. (ESPN2).

• 1 – With a pair of wins this weekend, Oregon will become the first school in conference history to win championships in football, women’s basketball and men’s basketball in the same academic year. In fact nationally, Oregon would join Ohio State (2005-06, 2006-07, 2009-10) as just the second Power Five school to ever achieve that accomplishment.

• 2 – Cousy Award finalist Payton Pritchard is trying to join Gary Payton (Oregon State, 1989-90), Damon Stoudamire (Arizona, 1994-95) and Jason Terry (Arizona, 1998-99) as the only players in Pac-12 history to lead the conference in both scoring and assists. All three were consensus first team All-Americans and Payton and Terry were National Players of the Year.

• 3 – Payton Pritchard is the only player in the nation averaging at least 20 points, four rebounds and five assists per game.

• 4 – Payton Pritchard has scored 20 or more points against nine different Pac-12 foes this season.

• 5 – Feb. 16 against Utah, Dana Altman passed John Wooden for 26th on the NCAA Division I coaching wins list. Altman now has 667 Division I wins. Gary Williams is 25th with 668 wins.

• BENCH – Oregon’s current 20-game home winning streak is tied for the fourth-longest in program history.

• BENCH – Payton Pritchard now holds three school records - assists (645), wins (103) and starts (138). He is also on pace to become Oregon’s career leader in steals (needs four more) and games played (needs three more).

SHARP-SHOOTING

Oregon leads the league and ranks 10th nationally in three-point field goal percentage (.384). The Ducks have three of the top six three-point shooters in the league in Will Richardson (first, .474), Anthony Mathis (second, .429) and Payton Pritchard (sixth, .400). Oregon also leads the Pac-12 in three-pointers made per game (8.5) with Pritchard pacing the individuals (2.8 per game).

PRITCHARD EARNS SECOND PAC-12 PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONORS

Senior Payton Pritchard was named one of five finalists for the 2020 Bob Cousy Point Guard of the Year Award by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame on Monday. He is the first Cousy Award finalist in program history. Joining Pritchard on the list of finalists are Devon Dotson of Kansas, Malachi Flynn of San Diego State, Markus Howard of Marquette and Tre Jones of Duke.

PRITCHARD BULLET POINTS

* Currently on the lists for the Wooden Award (final 20), Naismith Trophy (final 30), Oscar Robertson Trophy (final 12) and the Bob Cousy Point Guard of the Year Award (5 finalists).

* Is one the only player in the nation averaging at least 20 points, four rebounds and five assists per game.

* Is one of just five players nationally - and the only one from a Power Six league - who is leading his conference in both scoring (20.2 points per game) and assists (5.5 per game).

* If he maintains his scoring and assists leads, Pritchard would join Gary Payton (Oregon State, 1989-90), Damon Stoudamire (Arizona, 1994-95) and Jason Terry (Arizona, 1998-99) as the only players in Conference history to accomplish that feat. All three were consensus First Team All-Americans and Payton and Terry were National Players of the Year.

* Has been named the national player of the week by three different organizations this season (Naismith Trophy, Oscar Robertson Trophy, NCAA.com) and Pac-12 player of the week twice.

* Is the only player in Pac-12 history with 1,800 career points, 600 career assists and 500 career rebounds.

* Already the school’s record holder in assists (645), wins (103) and games started (138), he is also on pace to become the school’s career leader in steals and games played and could become just the second 2,000-point scorer in program history.

* Leads the nation with 138 consecutive starts.
