Mine De Klerk from South Africa won the U20 (teenagers) World Championship in the shot put and took 2nd in the discus.
We have been waiting a long time to get a potential NCAA Champion type of talent in those events. I am optimistic that the women will end up with a strong recruiting class this year. Several recruits have been low profile about their college decision… but when it is all said and done, Oregon should have a good infusion of new talent

So my gal, Gail, was on a plane Wednesday returning to PDX from Maryland.

Sitting next to her was a gal from Ethiopia.

This lady was trying to get to Eugene and when they landed she was having some difficulty in figuring out how to do that.

So, Gail took her aside and spent a little time with her to make sure she got on her way to Eugene with no issues.

Gail said she was some kind of runner.

Turns out she was Letesnbet Gidey...the Bronze Medalist in the 10000 at the recent Olympics and the World Record Holder at 5000 and 10000.

VERY COOL...I guess she was really sweet and thankful.

In my own mind, I am now famous by association...even if it is a couple of times removed!

Here is my take on the question after a week and a half of fall camp.

SAN FRANCISCO — The weekly matchups and site designations for the Oregon men’s basketball team’s 2021-22 Pac-12 Conference schedule were announced on Thursday by the league office.

The announcement reflects the games being played and the home/away designations each week of the Pac-12 regular season. Specific dates and times for each game within a week will be announced later this summer after selections by the league’s television partners are finalized. All Pac-12 Conference men’s basketball games will be televised by either Pac-12 Network, ESPN/2/U, FOX/FS1 or CBS.

The league previously announced a pair of early December matchups for the Ducks, who will host Arizona State on December 5 before traveling to Stanford on December 12.

Following the early conference contests, the remainder of league play will resume the week of December 29 and conclude March 5 ahead of the 2022 Pac-12 Tournament at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas (March 9-12).
