The Colorado game showed us a lot !!

AB continues to improve and now looks in total control. The offensive line continues to improve and looked great. The young running backs look ready for Prime Time. Adrian Jackson was a pleasant surprise. Moorhead has proven he is a great offensive coordinator as he has adjusted to AB strengths. The last quarter meant nothing more than a bunch of 2nd and 3rd stringers got some action, which is good. And Noah Sewell is a game changer and continues to improve. So fast to the ball today. And what's up with Devon Williams. He played like an All American..... Penalties ?, we had 5. Way better. We had to be patient with this team and it is now all paying off. If they continue to improve they should have a shot at the playoffs...

Cristobal: Post-game quotes...

Q. On the offense being more consistent this week…

CRISTOBAL: We certainly improved in a lot of areas offensively. Some young guys got some significant playing time as well. We mixed and matched the O-Line due to a couple guys who were nicked up and some other things we saw over the course of the week that we thought would give us an advantage. All in all, some positive steps and plenty of stuff to clean up and get better at.

Q. What is your general opinion of the game and the team’s performance?

CRISTOBAL: I think we took control of the game relatively early. In the second quarter, they got a couple scores, but our defense immediately came out in the second half and shut the door. When it was 45-14, we wanted to play a lot of guys. Guys who not only were backups but guys down the line a little bit that deserve playing time that are going to possibly have to step up and we wanted to let them play. Some of them made some really good plays and some other things we have to fix. Then at the end of the game we just wanted to make sure we closed it out. We wanted to let them play as long as we possibly could and then finish off the game. We put some of our guys back in to make sure we put the game out of reach. All in all, a lot of positive stuff, a lot of stuff to build on. 24 hours on it and looking forward to getting back to work and working our 1-0 process again.

Q. On quarterback Anthony Brown’s performance today…

CRISTOBAL: He had a really good day, was really efficient. The O-Line protected him really well, was accurate, the receivers made some plays for him, ran the ball well also, made some really good decisions in the run game - RPO game. Really good football game for him and for the offense. And lots of areas we can keep getting better at so it’s pretty exciting for us right now.

Q. Can you talk a bit about Byron Cardwell and Devon Williams’ performances today?

CRISTOBAL: Byron played really well. Seven played really well. Troy went out there and caught himself a touchdown. Certainly every single week Devon shows more. There’s more in the tank there. We have to keep pushing and challenging him because there’s a lot in there and he’s gonna keep bringing it. I know he is. And again, just a lot of guys making plays. Mycah made a lot of really good plays as well. He was really effective in the punt return game as well. Just really proud of a lot of guys and the way that they played and looking forward to getting on that tape and finding areas where we can keep improving. But they were excited. They were excited to get out here at noon and play in front of our fans. They went out there and certainly did a lot of things well.

Injuries

Wow.
Lots of injuries piling up. I really miss the old days where we had updates about players and progress of the young guys.

Where is Dontae Manning?
Is jackson laduke’s jnjury going to be season long? Justin Flowe’s foot injury season long or how many weeks. Is Dru Mathis done for the year?

If someone is hurt not sure why season ending or possible to return this season isn’t stated. There is no privacy concern.

I realize that access is severely limited from the athletic department, but sometimes miss what we got with both educk and dsa.

Eve before the game….WBB coasts last night!

They beat St. Martins a division 2 team in an exhibition game 93-26. They raced out to a 35-0 lead which is impressive no matter who the foe is.
Very deep squad as we know and they can play defense!! Paopao looked like she has matured into an all pac-12 player and many of the transfers are going to help a lot!
They honored Heberd, Sabally, Moore and the 🐐 last night!

Anyways, thanks for taking a break from your normally scheduled time and GO DUCKS….fast start and good close tomorrow please!!!

Expert predict-a-score: Colorado at Oregon

Scott

While the Duck defense started slow last week, I do not expect that to be an issue this week. Each succeeding week gets Bradyn Swinson a little healthier; and each rep gets Jeffrey Bassa a little better. The Duck defense played elite for two and a half quarters against one of the better offensive teams in the conference and I don’t expect them to take it easy on one of the worst offenses.

I think they will have some issues with contain on QB runs, but not enough to cause too many worries for fans.

Offensively, the team really seems to have found an identity in the absence of CJ Verdell and that identity will have plenty of success Saturday. I do think that the Buffs have a good defense, but the Ducks just have too many weapons and I think that they will be able to score plenty of points. This could be an opportunity for younger players to get some more repetitions which I think does happen starting around the third quarter. I think that sort of limits the total scoring for Oregon, but still like the Ducks in a comfortable win.

Oregon is 2-5 against the spread this season beating it only when they were underdogs, so I am not going to pick them to cover, but still like the Ducks here with a 38-17 win.

The Ducks are favored by 24 at home versus the 2-5 Buffs, who have scored 14 points or less in six of their seven games.

The Colorado defense has some talent but the offense can't keep them off the field.

The Oregon defensive line should feast on a patchwork offensive line that's given up 50 tackles for loss this year, second-worst in the league behind Arizona.

OREGON 45, Colorado 10

I get the feeling this will be a breakout game for some Duck skill players, and I think the defense will come to play being fairly healthy. The Duck offense is lucky that more than six OL are ready to play this season. If they had two injuries to starters last year, they would not have been nearly as good up front.

Defensively they have Kayvon Thibodeaux and Mase Funa healthy, along with Noah Sewell who seems to be everywhere out there. Dorlus, Ware-Hudson and Popo have been stout up front and the back end has been playing well.

Colorado is not very good and the Ducks should have an advantage on both lines of scrimmage and speed across the board.

That said...
