Here Comes Another MBB Season: Nov. 9, Tex. S. 4PM P12 Network

Can't wait. Assuming they trend as other Altman's teams have during the season, this could be our best shot at the FF since Dillon Brooks et al.

Maui Invitational, Nov. 22-24, great way for some early competitive match ups testing a game a day format. We get sort of a buy with host, Chaminade in game 1, then it gets much tougher with one of Huston, Butler St. Mary's or ND...Roy Williams once said he would play in this every year if he could, as it required some of the same things as post season tourney's, travel, bonding, fun, competition, and his case golf.

Edit, Might have to catch Baylor or UCLA live. Wish they would start those games so Portlander's could attend w/o staying up all night.

WBB opener

Love to hear from someone who watched it. I'm hoping it was a PAC12 network game and I can look in later.

From the box score it looks like the 91-34 win was a total mismatch. Idaho State's leading scorer had seven points and the team would never surmount the 50 points Oregon earned in the first half.
The Spuds (?) featured three more players scoring 6 points. On the other side Oregon had three players with double figure totals and five more with at least a half dozen. Obviously, Graves substituted liberally. Shooting percentages had Oregon with 61% to ISU's 22% while from beyond the arc they led 46.7% to 8%. I'm guessing it was not just an off night for the visitors.

Elsewhere, none of the five PAC12 teams playing were tested in their opening games.

So, we are number 3 in the country ?

Do you believe it, #3 in the country ? I have never seen a team, and I think a lot of people on the board feel the same way, that, this team has been the most emotionally draining, frustrating, confusing team I have ever cheered for. Do I think they are the #3 team in the nation ? I have my doubts. But, I am damn glad they are.

I think the best is yet to come. .

SCOTT FROST ESCAPES

In other coaching news.

Frost will be back next year with a re-worked contract.

I wonder if the re-worked contract goes something like this:

You should be gone but you are a legend here so...you can come back next year and if you win we will talk extension.

However, if you lose you are gone and your buyout is drastically reduced. Otherwise, we will move on from you this year?

Just wondering...

Ducks up to No. 5 in latest AP poll

EUGENE, Ore. — The Oregon football team moved up two spots to No. 5 in the latest Associated Press top-25 poll on Sunday following the Ducks’ 26-16 win over Washington in Seattle. UO also moved up one spot to No. 6 in the AFCA Coaches poll.

The Ducks (8-1, 5-1 Pac-12) were No. 4 in the initial College Football Playoff rankings released last Tuesday. The new CFP rankings will be released on Tuesday, Nov. 9, at 4 p.m. PT on ESPN.

Oregon is in the top five of the AP poll for the fourth time this season, and first since week four. This is the Ducks’ ninth consecutive week in the top 10 of the AP poll. Oregon remains the only Pac-12 team ranked in both the AP and AFCA polls.

The Ducks return home this week to host Washington State on Saturday, Nov. 13, at 7:30 p.m. in Autzen Stadium (ESPN).

Lots of preseason recognition for Sabally and Pao Pao

EUGENE, Ore. – A pair of Oregon players received more preseason recognition Tuesday, as Te-Hina Paopao and Nyara Sabally were named to the Wooden Award Top 50 watch list, while Sabally was also selected to the watch lists for the Wade Trophy and Naismith Award.
