USC POACHES PITT STAR

The least shocking transfer of the year.

Pitt WR Addison is the reigning Biletnikoff winner. A couple of weeks ago Pitt's coach was in the media and on the phone to USC coach Riley, claiming tampering.

The kid played dumb and said that he really didn't know where he was gonna go...and then...wait for it....he signed with USC yesterday. Huge surprise.

USC now has WR transfers this year from the best WR in the nation (Addison) ...from Jerry Rice's kid (Colorado) and from Oklahoma's Mario Williams....best Frosh WR in the nation last year and a supposed future first-round pick.

I suppose that if the Ducks had done this that I would be ecstatic. However, it somehow reeks of unfairness to me.

When the transfer thing first came out, I wrote about my concern that college kids could pull a LeBron/Miami Heat thing. " I'm gonna take my talents to USC (or wherever) and recruit two other stars to come and play with me."

As my Grandpa used to say..."It's not right...but it's so."

Oregon making its push for four-star QB Rickie Collins

Kenny Dillingham was in Louisiana last week to see Baton Rouge (La.) Woodlawn four-star quarterback Rickie Collins, who is committed to Purdue. Dillingham offered on the spot and loved what he saw from the dual-threat playmaker. I see Oregon as the biggest flip contender moving into the summer. Here's the latest:

Pair of commits from state of Texas visiting Oregon this weekend

Oregon is set to host two Texan recruits committed to other schools this weekend. The Rivals system doesn't allow flip FutureCasts, but I would enter one for Ashton Cozart to Oregon if possible. Here's the latest:

Duck baseball takes down #11 Gonzaga

Watched this one, was a great game. Ducks got a 3 run homer in the 1st, zags got one in the 2nd. Oregon’s pitchers did well, as that score remained the same until the 8th when one of our relievers gave up a 3 run homer to Gonzaga, giving them the lead 4-3.

Ducks then threatened in the bottom half, stranding baserunners on the corners. Then in the bottom of the ninth, Kasevich got on with an infield single, followed by a sac bunt to move the runner before Sam Novitske got a walk. Freshman Jacob Walsh then came up big hitting a double down the left field line, scoring both runners and walking it off 5-4 for the Ducks!

Ducks now 2-0 vs Gonzaga this year (although these were midweek, not against weekend starters), if they end up getting that regional should be a great one. Unfortunately their was some bad news… I watched the celebration after and starter Brennan Milone (who is one of the better hitters on the team) appeared to go down with an injury. Unknown how serious at this point, it appeared to possible be a right leg injury of some kind. He walked off, but very gingerly. I will try and post an update once I found out more.

Big Arizona series starts Thursday. Arizona is currently 4th (2 games back of beavers), Ducks 5th. Arizona just beat OSU 2-1 in a series this pst weekend. Would be big if we could take it.

Jordan Seaton (Washington, D.C. - St. John's College High) is the top-ranked offensive guard in the 2024 class already. The top-20 recruit is starting form some early opinions about the schools involved in the process already, and Oregon is one of the programs standing out. The Ducks have been heavily pursuing the 6-foot-6, 305-pound prospect, and that has has helped the program catch his attention.

“They brought staff from everyone, like literally. I was talking to coach Adrian Klemm and he told me his whole rap sheet and it’s just ridiculous to see what he has done."

Adam Gorney has a full update that you can read by hitting the link up top.
