Transfer TRAAAACK from MSU football team

Jaylon Barbarin might be of some interest to everyone. He comes in as a freshman but is a transfer from Michigan State. He has a PR in the 100m of 10.37.

Apparently Jaylon went to Michigan State
to play football as a running back. I do not get the impression that he is at Oregon to do anything other than run track, but apparently he has a muscular physique.

I prefer that talented sprinters focus on track rather than risk injury on the football field, but 10.37 would make him a very fast running back.

The latest on Jaron Sagapolutele..

The news is now out there that Jaron Sagapolutele is headed to the transfer portal. Here's what I've heard:

Sagapolutele of course signed with Oregon but there have been concerns about how many QBs are in their room and when Mendoza left Cal it opened up an opportunity to possibly come back into the Cal class and play early. It's something that the Cal staff never gave up on and now looks like a very serious consideration.

Second half comeback ,,, episode 6

Might as well be a made for television series.

Once again Oregon played the same script. They underperformed except on defense for a half, trailing by a handful of points at the break. They closed the gap early in the second stanza then fell behind by even more. Finally they won the the thing in the last minute, literally. No wonder I don't go right to sleep after watching them. What really happened was that I saved the game and saw it later in the evening. I watched almost all of it as it went but grew frustrated enough I skipped ahead about three minutes until the last five came up then watched the ending which played out like I hoped, almost expected.

What was nice was to see Shelton shine for the second game in a row and it looks like Biddle's three point touch is coming back. together they scored 46 of the Ducks' 73 point including most of the crucial ones down the final stretch. I'm not sure they use the big guy in the middle as much as I would but Dana is the one who wins twenty or more games every year.

It would not bother me a lot to see a few less turnovers, forced and otherwise.

some tidbits from the commentators:

It was a rematch of the teams involved in the game Oregon won to gain the first NCAA championship. They didn't mentioned that the NIT was actually a bigger egg at the time. The omission was fine with me.

It is the best start for Oregon since 2016.

Oregon and Utah State are the only two NCAA D1 teams to have won six games after trailing at the half. I'd like to see them win the rest more easily.

Next up is Penn State on the road Sunday

By the way, the women beat the Nittany Lions by a pair of points, holding them off in the fourth quarter to raise their record to 12-4.
