Official visit list: June 8-11

As Scott mentioned in his Flock Talk article today, there is small group of official visitors on campus in Eugene this weekend. The Ducks' big weekend will be June 23, but there are still some important recruits in town and likely at least a couple future commits in the group as well.

Highlighting the group is top-35 prospect and California linebacker Dylan Williams who has been shuffling his visits around, but announced late last night that he'd be making the trip out to Eugene this weekend. All but one of the visitors is rated as a four-star prospect and both Williams and Arizona-based running back Christian Clark are ranked inside the top 150 prospects by Rivals. Not sure you'll see anyone pull the trigger on a commitment this weekend, but it wouldn't be surprising at all to see the Ducks earn at least a couple commitments from this group when all is said and done. I'd specifically keep an eye on tight end Ryner Swanson.

NCAA Track Championships

Oregon’s men are in serious danger of going scoreless. Micah Williams will advance to the finals of the 100m with the eighth fastest time from the semis. Nine sprinters will be running in the finals. Micah qualified for the finials in a time of 10.03. Stanford’s star sprinter Udodi Onwuzurike finished right behind Micah in a time of 10.04. If Micah doesn’t finish above nineth, I do not think that our men will score a single point…. Who would have believed last year that this would happen?

Nevertheless, there is a lot of optimism about the future based upon the freshmen that are redshirting. and the incoming class.

The women have a shot at making the team podium. It won’t be easy, but they are likely to finish anywhere from third to fifth.

It is hard to predict a track meet. There are always surprises … good and bad.
I just want the women to do their best and let the chips fall where they may. The women throwers and 1500m runners should score a lot of points.

Five-star SG Cam Scott recaps weekend official visit to Oregon

Five-star 2024 shooting guard Cam Scott had a hectic few days over the weekend and into the first part of this week. He made the trek from South Carolina to Eugene for an official visit then promptly headed out to Las Vegas for the prestigious Pangos All-American Camp, where he shined and eventually was named camp co-MVP after averaging over 24 points across three days. In the midst of all that, DSA caught up with him to discuss his weekend visit with the Ducks, what pushed him to make that trip and his impressions of Oregon overall at this stage.

"Coach Chuck Martin from South Carolina, he went out there to Oregon," he said. "So, just having that relationship with him and my family then building a relationship with coach Altman and the rest of the crew, it was pretty nice to be out there. They just made it feel like home."

Monday, he wore an Oregon long sleeve shirt and the Ducks sound to be in strong position as he continues to go through the recruiting process. His longstanding relationship with Chuck Martin is key, but Dana Altman also made a strong impression on him as well over the weekend. He now officially holds an offer from the Ducks, and Oregon should be considered in the mix for his eventual commitment.

You can read more about his visit at the link above and/or watch a video interview with him from contributing reporter Kelly Horyczun below. The video also includes some of the many highlights of Scott from the last few days in Vegas.

Ducks Down to Their Last Hope!

We still have a track athlete in contention for the Heisman Trophy of Track and Field. …. and she is definitely from the” field” side of the sport.

It really all comes down to this week’s NCAA Championship. This gives Oregon fans a “sub plot” in which to follow, hope and cheer. All five contenders are superstars. Good luck Jorinde.

Baseball..Win

Well… nice 5-4 win… to bad you couldn’t watch it unless you spent $20 to get ESPN+..
Oddly I thought (and have had) ESPN+ as part of my Disney/HULU package for several years.. suddenly today I dont while still having my same package (auto renew).. guess they removed it from the package I have had …
Why #2 seed game isnt generally available on the ESPN channels is curious … but hey .. we are the Pac-12 and ESPN runs the show now..since we don’t play ball we are out😈
