Feedback from Elijah Rushing's father post visit

Elijah Rushing, is the No. 1 ranked Edge rusher in the nation and consensus 5-Star...and who might have the most appropriate name ever for a football player.

“It was another great visit,” Rushing’s father, George, told 247Sports. “Their ability to prepare their players and development was another big selling point again. It was a solid trip, obviously they have all the bells and whistles as far as facilities and technology, but it was really good to get more personal time with everyone there."

“I’m from the South, so coach Lanning reminds me of the coaches I grew up knowing. There’s a Southern feel, he’s very welcoming and just seemed like a genuine straight shooter. He’s a real person and there’s no fluff.”

“One of the big things we discussed was making it a powerful room,” George Rushing said. “For coach Lanning it’s going to be about bringing waves of guys to get after the quarterback, similar to places like Alabama and Georgia where they don’t let up. It’s not just about the first group there or about the big pass rusher, it’s a total effort from the second and third unit, just bringing constant pressure and not letting up."

"They believe Elijah can be a huge part of that. They did an outstanding job.”

Early notes ahead of Flock Talk

Two things of note:

1. Ryan Pellum visit looks like it is off. And anyone who says it was mutual or that the Ducks canceled it is being disingenuous. Oregon would have had him visit in a heartbeat because they felt a visit could still get Pellum on board. Deep down this is a pretty clear indicator that this one is over.

2. As expected Marquis Gallegos looks to have canceled the visit as well. I hear this one was more of a 'no more spots' for a safety situation from the Oregon standpoint, but that if they felt either of their safeties were soft, they probably would have still hosted.

More later today or tomorrow morning.

U GA, tOSU, Bama and Mich on the Schedule

Ha ha, gotcha. MBB for this coming season. Mich at home in Dec and U Ga in LV for the opener. Also, a mid season tourney that includes tOSU, Bama and Fla.

This five star wants to visit UO for the first time

of course this is popular in the south, but Jojo Trader is in no rush to end his recruitment, so Oregon could potentially get in the game if it hosts him for an OV

Rivals100 athlete Ryan Pellum has narrowed his focus to just two schools as he prepares for an official visit to Oregon this week. The Long Beach (Calif.) Millikan standout receiver and defensive back is focused on the Ducks and USC as his top two. He took an official visit to USC over the weekend. Pellum is expected to play receiver in college, and he has had a productive offseason so far on that side of the ball. He is an effortless route runner with impressive top end speed and a smoothness to his game. He'd be another really nice addition to the class. He played his junior season alongside current Oregon receiver commit Jordan Anderson, so there is some familiarity there as well.
