It all started in 1894 ….🦆🦫

The Oregon-Oregon State football series started on a chilly November Saturday in 1894 at a field situated east of Community Hall in Corvallis.

The “Lemon-Yellows” had arrived by train from Eugene and were “warmly received” as they cruised into Oregon Agricultural College to play a new sport many were calling gridiron football, an ode to the design of the lines on the playing surface.

Oregon Agricultural College, whose mascot was a coyote named Jimmie, beat the Lemon Yellows handily, 16-0, in front of no spectators. Afterward, the teams meandered over to Alpha Hall, the women’s dormitory, where they shared a postgame meal.

Pritchard Plays 33 huge mins in OT Loss

After good pre season play, he started the season in a shooting slump. Seems like he's breaking that and has solidified his place as 2d string PG.

Wednesday War Room: Game thoughts on Oregon State

Game Thoughts ahead of Oregon State Matchup:

It really is down to a one game season for Oregon at this point. If the Ducks want to get to the Pac-12 Championship Game (they do), then they have to win Friday. In many ways, this could not have been set up better. Think for a moment what happens to a team ‘guaranteed’ a spot on a championship game. Does it open up the potential for complacency? To look ahead of a rival to avenge a loss to a different rival? Of course, it does. No such problem here.

ASU game score guessing results

Boy, did you guys perform well. Only four of us finished under water with a threesome of water things right at zero. Most of the crowd was in the positive numbers with10Duck and 64Ore narrowly crossing the finish line tied for the lead. Quack45 was right on their heels. Notice that all of the leaders had numbers in their ID's. That referee taking away Nix's last TD pass completion sure did change things *&%^&##.

Forever Haunting Duck Fans: Jayden Daniels

I haven't seen him play, but visions of 2019, or whatever year it was, well let's just say it's pretty easy to believe he's off the charts awesome. However, if Nix keeps this up and wins the Packy, I still bet it's his, or possibly MPJr's.

Revisiting Oregon's Top Flip Candidates in the 2024 Recruiting Class

Frazier is a very special talent that can do it all out of the backfield. I've seen him multiple times this year and he's always a blast to watch. His ability to change direction, quickness, short area burst and top end speed make him special.

Five Takeaways From Oregon's 49-13 Blowout Win Over Arizona State

Heading into the season all the talk was around Terrance Ferguson at tight end, and perhaps deservedly so. Ferguson led all major statistical categories and Patrick Herbert hadn't been utilized much as an offensive weapon.

It's safe to say that there isn't much drop off between Ferguson and Herbert now. We can agree Ferguson is the better pass catcher of the two, but Herbert's two-touchdown performance and explosion after the catch shows that he's more than capable of being an asset in the passing game.

MBB vs Fla A&M

Couldn't watch and missed the first half but the Ducks widened a one point half time lead to 13 points. Foul shooting returned to bad or the margin would have been larger. The Ducks played the game with only 8 scholarship players available. Could be they were a little tired as early foul shooting was better. Ducks shot 54% from the field in the second stanza after 33% in the first. Oregon allowed 5 offensive rebounds before the half and none after that. The Ducks also had 7 steals. final was 67-54. I haven't heard if any of the missing wounded will be back for the game on Friday. Three ducks finished in double digits. The Big guy (can't think of his name this early in the season) swatted three or four block but didn't do much, if anything scoring.

Sorry about the disjointed stuff but I'm catching some of it on the fly from the postgame.

Santa Clara, the next opponent sports 3 7 footers so things could be a tough go if Biddle and Dante are missing. Don't know how good their big guys are.

Altman sound happy overall with the effort with some question about decision making at times. He liked the defense. It didn't sound like the big guys would be back for the next game.

Sounds like Oregon will celebrate Thanksgiving after a bus trip to the tournament site so they won't be too bloated for their game.

OT: Flock Talk context this week

You guys might have noticed the last two weeks were leaning heavily into talk about adversity and cancer. Just for some context this past week one of my employees - who had been with our company for almost a decade - passed away from Cancer. We knew it was coming, but the inevitability did not change the impact of the finality. Her father also happens to work for us (she was under 50) and we had to call him back from route on Tuesday so he could rush to her hospital when the doctors decided to give only palliative care. She lasted just 24 hours after that happened - and it was difficult for the entire crew; myself included.

She was one of the reasons I decided to return to the company. But I also had a bit of guilt as when we found out about the doctors stopping all care, I was in the midst of getting exceptional news from our Division VP - and it was difficult for me to accept being happy at such a somber moment. I know we all must move forward when we lose a loved one, it was just difficult in the moment to feel joy while she was losing her two year battle (she had been in remission until May of this year) with cancer.

Thank you all for your understanding and patience!
