A carry over from "Silent Commit" on Casanova...

It is hard for me to feel like df4l is a true Oregon Duck fan. He comments with such disdain and venom for the program that he says is for life. Df4l, did you get an Oregon tattoo and feel like your stuck with our team? There has to be a reason for you hanging on as a fan other than that you really love your Ducks. Find another team to make continual snarky, smartassy comments about. Geesh!

I was gonna ignore this, but after thinking about it "chose" not too...
Because it strikes a cord that really drives who I am at the core of my well being.
Even though I agree that DF4L is a "negative" poster...and it certainly gets old at times, do we really have the "right" on this site to continuously bash him "personally" for his "glass half empty" comments? Perhaps, I have a different perspective since I have a brother very similar in nature. I actually find many of his one liner or sometimes 2-3 liners...funny, entertaining, amusing, and factual, if not at least "on point". Now are they usually or even always with a negative glass half empty nature...YEP! But, isn't that what you expect? Just because he's different and not what we "like"...doesn't he have the "right" to post his thoughts? To express his feelings? Or do we all need to conform to the "good ole boy" network of posters who so often find the "need" to tell us what to do on here?
I actually have lots of "dislikers" (notice I didn't use haters) on here, lots of people who say they have me on (permanent block) but continue to respond to me(lol) and to me it's perfectly fine, this is or should be, a forum for everyone's point of view...whether we like it or them at all!
I've actually been ridiculed many many times on here for years for multiple things that many others do...like use of CAPITAL letters, the excess use of emoticons, thread jacking, spelling, language faux pas, being snarky, etc etc etc...
Which are all true, but often absolutely ridiculous, and then because I don't respond to them in the fashion many approve of (I'm working on this), the personal attacks & name calling come out & the "crap fest" begins...
JMO, the "personal attacks" and "name calling" is not only ridiculous but childish and can really ruin what I find as a very knowledgeable, diverse, and entertaining DUCK football forum.
So, not only am I personally going to try to be a better poster this year...I'm asking others to join me in being more tolerant of others, perhaps even find a little humor in DF4L's personality as well as others. If we try to keep the comments on posts to the actual posts and NOT THE PERSON behind the post...perhaps we can do, what we are asking the coaches to do...IMPROVE!

Jared Mayden

Just caught up with four-star cornerback Jared Mayden at the Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl and he tells me he's set to take an official visit to Florida State the weekend of Jan. 15.

Mayden says he's still committed to Oregon and just lining up some options, but it's certainly something to keep an eye on heading into National Signing Day.

A visit to LSU is also possible, he said. He visited Georgia and Michigan during the season before re-affirming his pledge to the Ducks in early October.

Let's look at where the REALLY GOOD DC's are heading...

There is several clues about who's stepping up there game here....are the DUCKS going to fly or flop with their hire?

Kirby Smart---Georgia
Jeremy Pruitt---Alabama
Don Brown---Michigan
Dave Aranda---LSU
Todd Orlando---Houston
Manny Diaz---Miami
Alex Grinch---Washington State
Kevin Clune---Oregon State

****Will add more high quality DC's that have moved in the last year or this year to improve teams...feel free to add to the list!

**Here is a list of VERY good DC's that may be available under the right circumstances:

Nick Holt---WKU
Mike Phair---Illinois
Randy Shannon--Florida
Tyson Summers---Colorado State

Bud Foster---VA Tech
Lorenzo Ward---South Carolina(former)

Beavs Hire New DC, LB Coaches

Canzano article on Oregon Live reports Anderson has hired Kevin Clune as DC and Corey Hall as new LB coach.

Clune was a former assistant to Anderson at Utah and Utah St.

The article is a good read that speaks to the 3-4 the Beavs ran and what was wrong with it (lack of talent).

Please no Canzano bashing, since it ruins the info only purpose of the thread and highjacks into the usual bleating.
