Miller Blasts His Team

This is ridiculous. Miller showing his true colors in a loss, I guess. The Ducks came out slow, but played great the rest of the game. Miller is a bit off base here, and lost to the better team. This is the best Ducks team I can recall since I moved out here in 84, and I'm fired up for these guys!

Walton's questions of Brooks are just plain stupid, "bigger stronger, more athletic,"....BS."You don't have size, speed or strength." BS "Baby Ducks" Get real Bill. These guys are getting better every game.

Maybe a Downside to Early Com's?

UO is not in the excuse biz, but seeing's how Oregon has to recruit from afar, we get a bunch of brave kids who love it on the early visit....then as time nears, close to home sounds better to the kid and family. Were almost always NOT the last place the out of state kids visit. Val was an absolute home run for Coach Cam, given Oregon has 3 or so of the best RB's in the confr., but given the depth chart I was surprised he picked Oregon, in the first place. That's how good a recruiter he is. UNC was 24th and could be facing "the death penalty" from the NCAA. Too bad Harney County don't kick out more recruits!

How I handle a defection like Malepeai

I am as disappointed as anyone about losing top guys in the 11th hour.So how do you handle being pissed off without crossing the line in wishing horrible things for a 17 year old?

I hope Malepeai stay healthy, gets a great education, and makes a lot of money in the NFL. As for his college career, I hope as a team they lose 8 or 9 games a year. I hope he ends up very disappointed and when he walks off the field against Oregon after a loss. I hope that he is unhappy in his decision and regrets the decision. I hope that if some kid from the islands asks him 5 years from now, if he made the right choice, he will say no. He will say that he could have won National championships at Oregon

In other words , have a good life, but I will take particular joy in seeing you fail on the football field at the college level. Having Malepeai fumble to cost the game against the Ducks in the Pac 12 championship would be perfect! To me, this is fair and reasonable without being a complete ass. A partial ass, yes, but not complete.

And now on to the guys who want to be Ducks. To me, Kirby for Malepeai is a good trade. If the Ducks were going to lose anyone, the position of running back, along with receiver, are the last positions I worry about. Not having a running back in this class will help Oregon a great deal in getting a couple of great prospects in 2017

NLOI Day Duck Primer...

For those of you keeping track of today here is DSA's commitment itinerary with expected announcement times. Remember to stay patient as these are start times for their schools' assemblies, etc. But to give you an idea of how today lays out:

Connor Murphy 8:30 am Update: Committed to USC

Vai Malepeai 8:30 am Update: Committed to USC

Calvin Bundage 12:30 pm

Wayne Kirby 6:15 am Update: Committed to Oregon

Mark Helfrich NLOI press conference 2:00 pm

Caleb Kelly 5:30 pm

Ducks enter today at #22 in the national recruiting rankings.

6:50 am Update: Ducks jump to #19 with addition of Kirby.
9:00 am update. Ducks collapse down to #26 with Malepeai taken off the commit list.

Let's see how they finish...

So Malepeai jumped to USC?

So what did USC have that Oregon didn't? He looks like the only RB on this year's list of recruits and with hi leaving dropped us out of the top 25. I understand kids change their minds all the time, but why would you jump from Oregon to SC when we have RB's that are always tops in the nation? Guess another kid fell for the fame and glory pitch, best of luck to the young man.
