Prospect Profile piece

I wrote this prior to the news of Martell's decommit, but it still stands as a basic analysis of the prospect. With the 'all in' approach the staff took with Ryan Kelley (the right decision, by the way) and the sparse number of elite level QB's still uncommitted, the Ducks, if they are going to sign a QB in this class (not a slam dunk at this point), might need to look toward a project QB who will be okay with the concept of sitting and learning for a couple of years.

So today I looked at one closer to home for Oregon, Connor Neville. There is a reason many analysts got excited by his camp performance at the Rivals QB Challenge last summer - and a reason why we should be wary of getting too hyped on singular performances in controlled environments.

Neville definitely improved between his sophomore and junior seasons, but there are still a lot of things which will need work before he steps onto the field in the Pac-12. Normally I do not profile committed prospects, but given the unique nature of the suddenly open QB spot and Neville's proximity to Oregon, I thought, what the heck.

Anyway, here is the article:

Martell De-Commits

This may have already been reported but it seems that Martell is officially gone from TAM. http://www.oregonlive.com/recruitin...ell_5-star_qb_and_pos.html#incart_river_index

The WR coach (Aaron Morehead) called him out via Twitter...things about loyalty and what not........and I personally think that the TAM coach said what most of us want to say:

I feel sorry for ppl who never understand loyalty. I can't really even vibe with u. At the end of the day trust is

& everything else is BS

Today's Guard...Pro Track League

This could be another feather in the cap for both Hayward Field and the Eugene economy.
The idea involves the creation of a professional team track league consisting of four cities, New York, Philadelphia, Portland and San Francisco. With the national championship at Hayward Field. I can't comment on whether or not it will be successful, but it is very creative. I will still prefer college track, but you can bet that I'll be cheering for ....the team from the Bay!....we might have some fun with that.

PAC 12 North predictions

PAC 12 channel predicted Stanford to win the North, with The Fuskies possibly breaking through. They hammered Duck's TCU debacle, and have them as a also ran. If our offensive line comes together, our offense will again be on point. While our defense has miles of work to catch up, I believe they will be much improved. They insinuated that " the mighty have fallen. 'The players in that program still believe they are elite"
