Looking no further than just a comparison of recruiting rankings for each position, I took Phil Steele's depth chart report for 2016 and compared Oregon versus Washington. Oregon's numbers do not look much different than Washington's but the product on the field was no comparison on Saturday. Call it bad/over/under rankings but Oregon's personnel, at least according to paper, should be able to compete on the field. Attitude, drive, heart, desire, strength, conditioning, coaching, scheme...I hope something changes soon for these guys. We really should be better defensively.

This pretty much covers what I posted last week. However, it is more thorough and better.
One thing that is news to me is that two time div 11 long jumper (and 8th place finisher at the Olympic Trials), Damarcus Simpson has run a 10.47 100m. If Tatum Taylor can regain his pre injury, form, then a 4x100 men's relay team of Simpson, Taylor, Brooks James, and King
might have a shot at scoring at nationals. Should Coach Johnson be able to woo a star transfer sprinter, as a replacement for Cravon Gillespie, (like he did last year when Dejah Stevens transferred in winter term), then the men might be in good shape in the 4x100 , 100m, and 200m, As it stands, they are not looking at many points in those events.....but perhaps a few points.

Makes this worse that we have to deal with this for an extra week.

Helfrich and staff are coaching for their jobs in my opinion. They have two weeks to get things straight and in my opinion if they don't make serious improvements in the next two weeks Helfrich won't be our coach next year.

Anybody have any insight as to how much influence Uncle Phil has on this program? Specifically, our favorite topic of late........ a coaching change.
