Just before the season started I did an article on Kansas City DB Dontae Manning, a former Oklahoma commit, who had identified Oregon as one of the schools he wants to use his final official visits on. I reconnected with Dontae this week and found that to still be the case. The latest on his recruitment in the article linked below:

Top grades Stanford - defense

While Oregon enjoys a bye and the opportunity to heal and regroup, the rest of the conference faces some challenging league games this week:

Friday 9/27 Arizona State at #15 Cal
Saturday 9/28 #21 USC at #17 Washington
Washington State at #19 Utah
Stanford at Oregon State
UCLA at Arizona

UW and WSU already have one loss in conference play, and Stanford has two. If the Ducks prepare properly and take care of the Bears in two weeks, they will have an early death grip on the North Division lead.

Who are you rooting for/watching closely this week?

Very hard to pick a side in the USC-Washington game. Almost leaning toward rooting for mutually assured destruction in that one.

My guess is that he has been watching the outstanding QB play at SC from multiple players, but maybe this is another vote on Helton or Helton's future.

The rankings of the top 7 will not change...
8-11 could get a huge shake up. And with the right miracle, DUCKS could be #8 going into the match-up with the purple leg humpers!
Depending on their ranking, game day could be in Seattle. The only other match-up that would get precedence over our game is Mich at Penn St. And both of those have to play Iowa...Mich has them at home week 7 and Penn St travels to Iowa City in week 7. We need Iowa to beat Penn State!

To reach #8 and have any chance at playoffs...First, the obvious...we need to win week 6 & 7 against CAL & Colorado...both at home, but Friday night games??
Guess they both aren’t Fri night.

Florida needs to lose to Auburn or LSU...and they will probably lose both!

I feel like a little kid. I sent Coach a text a few minutes ago saying good game, etc. expecting not to hear from him anytime soon. Well, he replied from their charter flight home and said...he had some new gear for me.

Was told by a couple of different people that the Ducks are likely to see Juwan Johnson, Mycah Pittman AND Schooler for the Cal game.

Pittman wanted to go last night as did Johnson but the staff felt that discretion was the better part of valor in both cases.

Jake Hanson will also be back for Cal.
