OT: Why, We, Our Fathers and Grandfathers Served?

I didn't. I was just young enough to miss Vietnam, but my grandfather served and was mustard gassed in WW I and my Dad, may he RIP, was in training for WW II when it ended. He was in Officer Training, so he got a full ride to complete his medical degree at UM and then served during the Korean War. My best friend's father in the UK was in the Battle of Britain flying hurricanes to save Britain. My best friend's Dad in NC flew for the Navy in Korea and and Vietnam. My wife and I just lost a close friend who was awarded the Silver and Bronze Star's, along with a Purple heart in WWII. I know we have active and retired service members on the Board, but I don't know who ya'll are. Why did you/they do it? What is the higher calling, and why beckon to it? Could it be there is something bigger than ourselves? In times like these, it should seem obvious, but I fear it's not. Why serve the USA? And gratitude to those who did!

Dan Lanning: "It's hard every single week"

Here is our recap of his comments:

Ill NOISE SCORE GUESSING RESULTS

Wow ... seven people were lined up on that 38. Guess you are getting close to understanding the Ducks .. we'll see if that continues with the visit to the big house. Adam carried the day witha near perfect prediction but he was doomed as soon as the Illini lined up for the two point conversion. Miss it, which they did, puts it a point short or make it is one too many on the high side. Still, great job, Adam you just didn't figure the coach was and idiot. Some really good results for a lot of you ..

NCAA settlement removes 1000s of athletes from teams & sport

Tough situation. Some athletes gain, while others lose. The article’s title mentions 100s of athletes at risk, but the content makes clear that 1000s of roster spots are being cut.

The Lions OL is Roaring

So let's admit, Gibbs is fast, but re-watch the OL play. Any one of our RB's would have a huge gain off that. It all started in the trenches, starting with Mario's OL recruiting, and now with Lanning's DL. So what if Sewell is RT, aint nobody stopping the Lions OL. For every star RB there are 5-6 OL's/ TE's paving the way.
