Opening comments:

Good morning, everybody. Certainly an honor and privilege today to be able to do this in person after what we all went through last season. Certainly I know everyone is enthused and excited. Feel like we're coming off our best off-season that we have had in our time at Oregon. Camp is around the corner. Getting excited to be here and looking forward to answering your questions.

You said best off-season. Can you explain why that's been the case?

Well, I think the most important thing in the off-season is to find out what your team is all about in the form of presenting them with challenges, with adversity, finding ways to groom leadership. After being apart from each other for an entire season, the brotherhood of our football team, the chemistry, the dynamic that has made us strong over the years has been investing time in each other, spending time with each other, investing time with each other, getting to know each other, working hard, then gaining respect for each other as people, as competitors and teammates has gone a long way.

We feel there's a very strong sense of urgency, detail and intensity in our players. They're ready to compete. They're ready for a very competitive, physical and intense camp.

LOS ANGELES — OREGON has been chosen as the favorite to win the 2021 Pac-12 Conference Championship in a vote of 40 media members who cover the league. The two-time defending Pac-12 FCG champion Ducks received 27 votes to earn the preseason nod, ahead of both USC (10) and UTAH (3).
The Ducks were chosen as heavy favorites to win the Pac-12 North Division this season, receiving 38 of 40 first-place votes. WASHINGTON, who won the North in 2020, received the other two votes and finished 2nd overall in the division projections. The Huskies also captured the North title in 2016 and 2018.

USC (223 points, 27 first-place votes) repeats as the Pac-12 South Division preseason favorite, ahead of UTAH (183, six first-place votes), ARIZONA STATE (170, six first-place votes) and UCLA (135, one first-place vote).

The media has correctly selected the Conference Champion in 32 of 60 previous preseason polls, including five times in the 10-year FCG era.

Following are the results of the preseason media poll (points 6-5-4-3-2-1, first-place votes in parentheses):

The 2021 Pac-12 Football Championship Game, presented by 76® and featuring the winners of the North and South Divisions, will take place on Friday, Dec. 3 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, NV. The game will be telecast to a national audience on ABC.

In a softball Gold medal game in which the breaks went the wrong way for the US, Japan won the Gold beating 2-0.
This means that Oregon alumna, Janie Sneed wins a Silver Medal.

A special note is that by far the star player on either club was Janie Sneed.
She hit a triple at her first time at bat. She hit a clutch single to put the US into a good scoring opportunity… except for an ironic double play by Japan. Then in the top of the last inning, with Japan 2-0, she climbed the fence, making a spectacular catch that stole a home run from Japan and retired the side.
Congratulation Janie on wining a Silver and by having an outstanding individual performance.

At 6-6, 315 he's one of the bigger options at DT. Maybe he can work his way into the rotation. Expecting good things from Keyon Ware-Hudson and Dorlus.

The Jim Thorpe Award, named in memory of multi-sport athlete Jim Thorpe, has been awarded to the top defensive back in college football since 1986. It is voted on by the Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame.

The US Softball team has advanced to the Gold Medal Game. Oregon alumna Janie Sneed is on the US Softball team. She will be winning either a Silver or a Gold.

I just want to say that this guy is so special. He is all class. He is the most exciting freshman 100m sprinter in the NCAA… I mean 9.91 WOW!
