Prandini is eliminated in 200 Semi Finals

I feel frustration as I post this. Jenna had a great Trials. She came into Tokyo with the 4th fastest 200 time in the World this year. She will not see the finals because she has been eliminated in the semi finals. She finished 5th in her Semi final heat and 13th overall. Jenna is one of the greats in UO history and I hope that she can bring home a medal in the 4x100 relay.

I just talked with a track coach who was a star 100/200 sprinter at Oregon. He agrees that is was a mistake for Jenna to run both the 100 and 200. She had a remote chance of medaling in the 100. He feels that she would have been better off focusing on just the 200 and the relay.

Jessica Hull Advances to 1500 Semi Finals

She looked great in that Australian green and yellow uniform! Let’s see how she does in the Semis! I think that she has a good shot at the finals. She was a multiple time NCAA Champion at Oregon… and one of of the top scholars to ever wear the green and yellow. Most of all, she is gracious and polite. I feel fortunate to have meet her many times.
She came to Oregon as an unheralded recruit. She didn’t have a great freshman season, but she just kept improving. She is just a great success story for our track program. I am a proud American, but in the women’s 1500, I’m just a Duck.
