No. 1 in the state of Ohio and No. 1 overall cornerback for the Class of 2026, Elbert Hill of Akron, Ohio, has 24 offers, including Alabama, Arizona State, Colorado, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisville, Miami, Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Penn State, Pitt, Purdue, Tennessee, UCLA, Southern Cal, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.

He planned to visit Eugene for the Ducks' game against Maryland, but plans were cancelled. "Unfortunately, we didn’t make it down there because our flight was delayed while we were at the airport, so we’re going to try to get back out there for the Washington game," his father told me.

I will be hearing more from Hill in an interview this week, where we will talk about his offer and the recruitment from Oregon.

"Evan Williams stays at the top: The Packers safety is now the fifth-highest-graded safety in the NFL."

Rookie Rankings

With another week in the books, the sample size for most rookies around the league continues to grow. That allows us to check in and see who the highest-graded first-year players are after the season's first six weeks (150-snap minimum).

1. S Evan Williams, Green Bay Packers

PFF Grade: 89.4

Williams set a career high with four defensive stops this past week despite not having his best game in coverage. Through seven weeks, he ranks fifth among all safeties in PFF grade (89.4).

2. TE Brock Bowers, Las Vegas Raiders

PFF Grade: 88.3

The highest-graded tight end in the NFL this season, Bowers leads all players at his position by over 100 receiving yards. He also ranks second among tight ends in yards per route run (2.26).

3. QB Jayden Daniels, Washington Commanders

PFF Grade: 83.4

Daniels suffered an injury early in the Commanders' win over the Carolina Panthers, but his performance leading up to that point has positioned him as the third-highest-graded rookie in the league. The No. 2 overall selection in the 2024 NFL Draft boasts an 80.7% adjusted completion rate through seven weeks.

LENOIR IS THE $92M MAN!

Congrats!

The San Francisco 49ers and cornerback Deommodore Lenoir have reached a five-year, $92 million extension, a source told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler on Tuesday.

Lenoir, 25, is in the final year of the rookie deal he signed after being the 172nd pick (fifth round) in the 2021 NFL draft. He was poised to be an unrestricted free agent after this season.

Lenoir, who has excelled in both the slot and the outside, has 53 tackles, 2 interceptions and 1 forced fumble this season. He also scooped up a fumble on a blocked field goal vs. the Arizona Cardinals and returned it 61 yards for his first career touchdown.

He has allowed 35 catches on 56 targets this season with a 65 passer rating on throws into his coverage, according to Pro Football Focus.

In 2023, Lenoir played 311 snaps in the slot and 570 at outside corner, allowing a minus-4.7 EPA, 80.1 passer rating and just one touchdown when targeted, while posting three interceptions and 10 passes defended.
