Without looking at a 14 day weather forecast which wouldn't mean all that much any way and knowing it never rains in Autzen.. Ok I cheated and it looks like you guys in Eugene are going to need umbrellas (which true Oregonians never use) every day for the rest of the month. It is however not an overwhelming chance that there will be a lot for the game. The weather is more likely to effect outdoor practice and you might have to wipe your seat off in Autzen before you sit down. Leave your Depends at home as they might get kind of heavy before the game is over. Mongrels are practicing in the same kind of weather, it looks like.

If I missed anything or messed up a score let me know.

Since the game is two weeks away, I'll post in the thread every once in a while to keep it near the top of the new posts where you can see it. It is a bit early but I'm guess some of you might want to see where you stand with at least a few games left to play. I'm thinking about adding over/unders for bonus points but might save that for next season.

I'll start things off with 38-14

An early peek at hoops contributions

First of all an overall look

I took a little while and rated 11 categories including several shooting percentages to see how the top 9 guys contributed per minute. The guys are, for the most part, pretty even contributors. Their scores are as follows
lowest is best

Angel 43
Biddle 44
Bamba 46
Shelstad 48
Bartholomey 49
Moss 49
Tracey 51
Evans 54
Supreme 62

I'm sure this will change but it looks like Dana did a pretty good job bringing in his portal players. I expect both Biddle and Shelstad to climb within a few game. I'll probably take another peek in early January.

Caldwell, The Man in the Middle

For those who don't live in Oregon and don't subscribe to our State's rag there's a really good article in the O today focusing on one of our biggest Seniors on Senior day. I guess if we we are amazed at the rise in UO's D we should start with our big guy, who's contributions to a possibly perfect regular season and our best D ever that saved the Offense time and again through the season and who makes it possible for our DE's, LB's and DB's to shine.

He lost his JC scholarship and went home during Covid.

“That’s when I hit a period where I got real big, to at least 430 (pounds),” Caldwell, now listed at 340, said. “One day, my uncle asked me, ‘You always wanted to play football, why’d you let it go?’”

Lanning says:

“I’d say he is extremely underrated,” Lanning said of Caldwell. “He’s a really talented player and has done unbelievable things for us. I think when he plays, people know where he’s at on the field. He’s someone you have to gameplan for. I’m really glad we have Jamaree on our team.”

What do you do with the combo of Caldwell, Harmon, Matayo, Tuioti and hopefully Burch coming at your QB? Run away !

Akili had a Super Season

Watching an Oregon recruiting pod yesterday and apparently he had one hell of a season, leading his team to the area San Diego Championship. He fell off a little from the "T shirts and shorts" camps last Summer, but more than made up for it on the field this year. 247 might give him a bump. They have him at 15th QB. Seems unlikely we will get, or even need, the HW kid if all that is true.

Weekend recruiting primer

As promised this has a little bit more detail on each of the visitors, plus some notes on other recruits as well.

Lots of content today. Next up is our Weekend Recruiting primer - with a look at the known visitors plus a couple of notes from other prospects.

Ducks to face Alabama

Nope, not on the gridiron but on the hardwood.

Saturday night championship game vs #9 'Bama in LAs Vegas. 6:30 west coast time and won't keep me up too late over here in Maine.

Oregon is one of last two undefeated hoops teams in the B1G and looking better than I thought they would this early in the season. Wisconsin is the other team without a loss, yet.

HARRY THE HUSKY IS A NARC!

THE DUCK IS TROLLING THE dawgs...

Though the Oregon Ducks aren't part of the Pac-12 Conference anymore, the Duck mascot still has some animosity toward former foes.
Oregon was part of the conference realignment that saw four teams join the Big Ten conference, including the former Pac-12 neighboring state rival Washington Huskies, which keeps the tension between the two schools alive.
Lately, the Duck has been quacking on X at Washington's mascot, Harry the Husky, leading into their Week 14 match.
On Tuesday at 12:01 a.m. ET, the Duck made a tweet that headlined a list of jabs at Harry the Husky saying: "new conference but Harry the Husky is still a narc."

The Duck seems to keep a consistent timing, sending comedic shots at the Husky every hour.
Oregon's mascot repeated the same act last season leading up to the Ducks' bout with the Huskies, where Washington cruised to a 36-33 win.
Though the Duck has taken 15 jabs -- and counting -- his nemesis has not yet responded.
