Just got back from Wednesday practice. Here are my notes and pics from today.
  • One of the biggest notes from today was Verone McKinley III. Sounds like has worked himself into a position as the No. 3 CB behind D Leno and TG4. Coach Donte Williams was telling me after practice that VMIII is doing a fantastic job as a nickel back this spring as well
  • Coach Ken Wilson told me that as far as he was concerned, all the LB's were starting from scratch. He was not going to go by last year's depth chart, and everybody would have to earn PT. That said, I can't imagine guys like Troy Dye don't get the start.
  • DJ Johnson is up to 270 now and he looks it. Big guy. Surely he can help the DL this year.
  • For as big as Sala is, he is actually looking more trim in the waist than he did six months ago. I think the conditioning program here has been excellent for him.
  • The starters at WR today looked to be Schooler, JJIII and Jaylon Redd, although in the stuff we were watching Redd may have been a RB. He was in motion every time but did take some direct handoffs.
  • The second WR's today were Addison, JJ Tucker and Josh Delgado.
  • Speaking of Delgado, heard a few compliments of him from other players.
  • Looked to me like Sala was running with the No. 2 offense, and walkon Ryan Walk with that group too so not sure what was going on there. But it was the second unit with Shough at QB.
  • Addison was wearing a red jersey today but was participating. Cale Millen was nowhere in sight while we were in practice for the first 30 minutes.
  • Pro Day is tomorrow
  • Next practice is Friday although I cannot be there. Nichole will be covering it for us.
  • All for now
