The contact period began for recruits in the 2024 class yesterday. Coaches now have the opportunity to reach out and speak with rising juniors openly. Previously, recruits had to initiate the contact or it had to go through coaches. This makes it much more clear which prospects are on the radar for the various programs around the country and which 2024 recruits could end up as top priorities in the class. Oregon was one of the most active schools in the Pac-12 on the first day. Here's a rundown of the prospects Oregon's coaches either text messaged or called on the first day of the contact period.
Tomorrow also begins the first of three live evaluation periods in June for college coaches. The next couple weekends will feature several high school sanctioned events around the country making it a little different than the April and July live periods that feature almost exclusively opportunities to watch recruits with their club teams. The big event out west, Section 7, will be in Phoenix at State Farm Stadium the home of the Arizona Cardinals. There will be over 225 teams from 12 different states, including Oregon, represented at the event.
