I watched a daytime broadcast of the track today. Most of you will likely be watching the evening telecast. The one that I watched had two British broadcasters and one American… it was more of an international focus.
Since many do not as yet know results, I won’t mention any. However, I will mention something regarding Jessica Hull the women’s 1500m.
When the entrees for each final come out, they come one by one as their name is announced. The athlete then stands alone on an entry stage in front of a big screen with their name and a giant video impression of their nation’s flag. As Jessica was announced while standing alone on the stage, in front of the Australian flag, she broke into a big smile and flashed the Oregon O for the whole world to see.
