I'm now exhausted from watching three days of track and field. We will have our gurus start the process of crunching the numbers in an effort to assess and predict how Oregon will fare in Austin at the Dance.

Oregon is sending half their student body to compete in Austin. What an effort! What an accomplishment!

Chip Kelly, when asked if his team's performance sent a message, used to reply that he wasn't into sending messages. Robert Johnson might feel the same, but Oregon has indeed sent a message.
This team was not expected to have much success this year. Oregon suffered heavy losses from out going transfers and the loss of the Powells to Washington.

So what's the message? The message is that Oregon track is an enduring legacy. Oregon won't win the national team championship every year, but you better believe they will always put up a great fight. At Oregon, the show must go on. This weekend that message resounded throughout NCAA track and field. This was track and field entertainment at its best. This team has a competitive spirit that can not be over stated. Oregon rose to the occasion. Our coaches are magnificent. I am in awe.
Next Up...The NCAA Championships in Austin. Good night and Go Ducks!
