We are all understandably excited about the marquee star players in this recruiting class, but every year we sign lower ranked athletes that turn out to be super stars. Mario piqued my interest in a few guys that are not the talk of the nation.
I get the feeling that we may have signed one of Oregon’s most talented football players ever today in Faaope Laloulu. He is enormous. Mario talked about his unusual athleticism. I saw a photo of him playing volleyball on the Pac12 network. He was way off the ground while going for a volleyball. Mario says that he is a good student. This guy has size, agility and learning ability. I am excited!
Mario feels like Jackson LaDuke is an elite recruit. He mentioned Jackson in the same breath as he did Flowe, and Sewell. Mario said that we signed the three best linebackers in the country.
Mario raved over Trey Benson, He says that Trey runs a 10.5 100! He is a speed back weighing over 200 lbs. Mario sounds excited about Trey.
Bennett Williams was a freshman All American at Illinois. Nuff said.
Yogi Roth on the Pac12 network raved about TJ Bass. This O lineman was from a tiny town and ended up at a relatively remote California JC. He is likely under rated. He is big and explosive. Mario knows O linemen. I think that TJ could end up becoming a starter before he graduates.
We may find out that Faaope Laloulu is the biggest get in this class in more ways than just his height and weight.
