St. John's College High (Washington, D.C.) defensive back Collin Gill took an unofficial visit to Oregon with his dad over the weekend and spent a good amount of time with the coaching staff. He was able to get a better idea of how he fits into the plans after picking up his offer from the Ducks a couple weeks ago. He's started to gain some traction in his recruitment again after dealing with an ankle injury that kept him out for half of his junior season leading to a slowdown in his recruitment. However, he's ready to make a decision and will announce his choice this Thursday. He says that Oregon was his childhood dream school, and right now all the signs point to the Ducks being the spot. Michigan, Washington, Maryland and Kansas State make up the rest of his top five at this point.
His trip to see the Ducks was productive and he came away with a really strong impression of Dan Lanning and the entire defensive staff and Oregon as a school.
"It was great. I really love coach Lanning, coach Demetrice [Martin], coach Tosh [Lupoi], coach [Matt] Powledge – all those coaches. They really connected with me and showed me a lot of the things that I love about Oregon. Especially the school. I really liked the school part at Oregon, especially the business school. I want to major in finance, and I really love what they do in the business school."
