So, I started thinking about Duck football (I know...hardly ever happens, right?). Well, after a couple hours, I decided to see what you guys thought.
Anyway, I started thinking about who I see as the real PLAYERS on this team - the ones we see making plays, the guys we count on to consistently step up when the team needs them. Here's what I came up with, please add your additions, comments or corrections:
Offense:
Jake Hanson (has he made a mistake this year?)
Johnny Mundt (quietly does his job - and does it well)
Jalen Brown (responsible for 5-6 long runs with his blocking & is a REAL good receiver)
Justin Herbert (Duh...)
(what is it with the J's?)
Royce Freeman (Double Duh!)
Tony Brooks-James (started the year #4 on the depth chart but has made his mark)
Defense:
Jalen Jelks (Solid against the run & maybe our best pass rusher)
Troy Dye (not really sure...just something about him <sarcasm>)
Jimmie Swain (surprised me a bit, but he's really come on & should improve)
Ugo Amadi (quietly become our most dependable corner)
Brenden Schooler (saved our ass WAY too many times & leads the team in INTs)
Special Teams:
Matt Wogan (almost NO runbacks when he kicks off)
Adrian Schneider (4 misses in 2 years - and steady under pressure)
Charles Nelson (a threat that teams scheme against)
Ok, guys...your turn.
