I'll add to these as I go, but here are my initial thoughts sitting down after the open practice session today.

  • New faces in the crowd for the first time today: Mycah Pittman, Camden Lewis, Mykael Wright, Patrick Herbert
  • Penn State WR transfer Juwan Johnson was there but in street clothes. He is a very large dude with an NFL-type body. I like the fact he was very into watching the practice. You could tell he very badly wanted to be in there.
  • Mycah Pittman was running with the twos. I have no idea why this was the case or if it was only for the three periods they let us watch. But still, it was quite surprising to see him thrown to the wolves like that.
  • Patrick Herbert was with the threes today.
  • Pittman is not quite as long as I was thinking but he is pretty thick. He has outstanding quickness and I was impressed with his soft hands.
  • Watching Lenoir and Graham again today, I am becoming more and more convinced that the Ducks could be very good at CB this year. Add Woods, McKinley and Hailassie to the mix and they have nickel and dime covered very well.
  • In fact, this might be one of the best defensive backfields in recent memory when you throw in the safeties with Pickett, Holland, Breeze, Gibson and Stephens. That is a total of ten DB's that I think are ready for Pac-12 play.
  • I'm not sure if he is 100% yet but Cale Millen looked good today with his arm. You already know Herbert and Shough can spin it so I won't go over them again. I do think the Ducks are in much better shape at QB than they have been lately.
  • Next practice is Thursday. I will add some photos to this thread plus anything else I can think of.
  • All for now.
