1. Good opening effort by the Ducks...we left about 17 points on the board in the first half. Game over...not he coaches fault.
2. Trade one of our kickers to the Chicago Bears....lol.
3. The defense played lights outs...until the end when we got outcoached by Gus.
4. I have been an Arroyo fan...nay...an apologist.....great game plan to open....left 17 points on the board that was not his fault....and then layed a total egg in the second half.
Totally outcoached IMO!!!! Third and long with the first pick of next years draft at QB and we run off tackle.....Fricken Really....????? Chip Kelly could do that...and I still don't know how....but pretty much nobody else in the history of football could.
I have been vocal about giving him (Arroyo) a break and I sincerely hope that I am wrong.....but....he cannot make in-game adjustments to counter the other coaches adjustments
We should be too good right now for a coach that is doing OTJ training. I really hope that I can choke on these words later...truly.....but he cannot make COUNTER MOVES DURING A GAME.
ALSO...perhaps in Marcus' defense.....(and I think that SoCal Duck would agree with me...) on the last drive...even the sportscasters said that we were gonna run right.....and we did and we got stuffed.
So... Marcas has to call a significantly different play. Every team has at least one play they think that they can get a yard with no matter what. If the play he called was indeed the go-to play then I would posit that he has no imagination at all and needs to be replaced.
If MC called that play to show everybody that we are SEC tough... then I would give Marcus a pass on that play (and that play only) because the HC wanted to do that.
And then I would question MC's play-calling....must be an easier way to get fricken one-yard.
And...BTW...even though Justin had great stats in the second half he was largely ineffectual.... (see Arroyo Marcus).
On the good side, I can obviously see how much better Justin is than last year....Pro ready indeed!
And.....I am drinking the Defense Kool-Aid....for once the Offense really need to help them out. Just like last year...a timely first down or two and we win the game.
I apologize for ranting...and tomorrow I may have a different opinion...but a great effort by the Ducks who came to play...but then squandered chances and made poor coaching decisions to lose the game.
I'm out...please feel free to flame me!
