This is the last home game of the season. It's the last time our seniors will ever run out of the tunnel, following that big ol' Harley onto the field at Autzen. It's a very special day for them.
I hope our fans - and, I think that includes all of us on this board - remember THAT aspect and give them all the encouragement, all the support and all the energy we can find within ourselves.
I don't care if you love the coaches, think they're ignorant boobs that shouldn't be allowed around butter knives, or anywhere in between. Today is NOT about them...it's about the guys in those uniforms who work HARD every day and walk off the field - win or lose - bruised and battered. It's about the guys who bust their tails for YEARS because they love the sport AND they care so much for the school (and people) they represent.
We owe them. We owe them a LOT for all the smiles, laughter, pride and joy they've given us. All they ask in return is that we recognize their efforts and be DUCKS as much as they are.
Today should be a day when the crowd makes the Arizona State crowd look like meditation time at the city library. Today should be a day when EVERY player is cheered at introduction, when they go onto the field and when they leave it. Today should be a day when we are DUCKS and that is MUCH more important than being "right" about whether or not some person in a corner office still occupies it next March.
Go to the game if you can. Scream and holler and ENJOY. It's what those guys work for every day. It's a small price that we pay for all that goes into our love of the Ducks. Pay it willingly, happily and with no thought of "but, MH..." . Pay it for the Seniors. Pay it for the walkons. Pay it for the people who have given US so much.
Go Ducks!!
