Thoughts on Transfers

Riddle me this:

If a quarterback realizes that he is going to be third string and transfers......he is spoken of as a kid who will not compete and then, "good riddance."

If a point guard gets beat out by a 19-year-old and then transfers....it is all "good luck dude."

I have my opinions on this....but I'd like to hear what y'all say about this.
