It means that this team is thriving. They continue to improve. Oregon is getting a lot of qualifiers for the NCAA Championships.

Right now there are lots of athletes just outside the top 8 that are a threat to score if they can improve their marks. There are also a lot of athletes inside the top eight that are likely to score at Nationals.


I do not know about the status of sprinters Xavier Narne or Jasmin Reed. Hopefully neither are seriously injured.

The horizontal jumpers are coming on. Let’s see what developes.

The middle distance and distance runners are performing at a high level. This is the strongest area for the men at this point in this season.

There are a ton of positives. I will mention just one subtle positive in freshman 800m runner Luis Peralta. He is only a freshman and he is now ranked 10th in the country. He was a huge recruit based upon his high school junior year. His prestige faded in his senior season. I suspect that he had some injuries. Let’s see if he can step it up at Nationals and finish somewhere in scoring range. I think that today might put everyone on notice that Luis is about to emerge as a star.
