The third in our series of profiles of the amazing cast of athletes slated to attend Oregon's first-annual summer recruiting showcase, Talanoa Hufanga of Crescent Valley High.

What impressed me most in researching this remarkable athlete is the combination of rare talent with genuine humility and character.
He accounted for 8 touchdowns in a game against arch rival Corvallis last September and afterward he told reporter Bob Lundeburg of the Gazette-Times, “I think (eight) is the most I’ve ever had,” Hufanga said with a smile. “But it’s not all me. My linemen are giving me the gaps I need to read and they are opening the holes and doing their job so I can do mine, which is to help get Ws.”
If the Ducks pull Lenzy, Jaramillo, Cota and Hufanga out of the state, it has to be their all-time recruiting haul within Oregon. But it will be a pitched battle to hold on to all four. Adding Eli'Jah Winston from Central Catholic would be worthy of a Weekend Update and an opening monologue.
