I think it's pretty simple actually. A perfect storm of sorts.

First It's extremely difficult to go undefeated in conference play. In fact, not one Pac12 team has done it since they expanded to 12 teams and added the championship game. Not one.

Young team, young coaching staff. First, I think the coaches got taught a lesson by an old wily vet. Herm was one step ahead of Mario all game long, and our coaches really kind got their butts whooped. Yes, the players need to execute but I saw very little in game adjustments all game long, and that's on the coaches.

I think it was a combo of a young team and young coaching staff reading the headlines, and forgetting to show up for the game. It happens, and this is how you learn. I believe that in all sports, you must first learn how to lose before you can learn how to win.

Things are fine. They lost, it happens. No need to freak out. We are heading in the right direction.
