He did not play in the spring game. He was running track in Arizona.

There have always been football players who participate in track, and then two sport athletes, who emphasize both sports. That is hard to do.

DAT is an example of a football player who participated in track. Devon Allen is an example of a two sport athlete. LaMichael James is an example of a two sport athlete who prioritized football. Micah Williams is an example of a track athlete who participated in football ( no game time). Micah was an Olympian, but is absent from Oregon track right now because of an injury he suffered in football.

Rodrick looks to be a two sport athlete more in the Devon Allen mode. My hope is that he decides to focus on track. Rodrick might have Olympic potential. Had Devon not suffered an injury in the Rose Bowl, he might have been an Olympic medalist.

Let’s see what Rodrick ends up doing. I just hope that the transfer portal doesn’t become part of his picture. Oregon has produced great sprinters, but that is in spite of the climate. Sprinters prefer warm climates. However, there is no college track facility like Hayward Field.
