Ok...I've been watching football for about a million years (or so it seems) and I have ALWAYS thought that the pylon was in bounds and that if the ball touched it...it was a TD.
I mean I would've bet the house on that notion.
I had friends texting me last night the same thing...everybody that I know thought that that the pylon is in play.
So what's the real rule?
