New rules at practice today for media with restrictions of video and photos. It is going to be very difficult to get pictures of certain position groups going forward, specifically QB, WR, TE and OL. I'll do the best I can.
- Nice energy and focus to start practice which is always good following a scrimmage
- I watched mostly the LB and DL groups today, but we only had a few minutes to do so
- Isaac Slade Matautia and Troy Dye seem to have the No. 1 at ILB locked in
- Lamar Winston has No. 1 at OLB locked in
- Not sure who the Stud LB will be but three guys are in the running, DJ Johnson, Bryson Young and Mase Funa. Whoever wins the start will be a good player with solid backups
- The DE position is going to be solid assuming there are not many injuries.
- DT/NT I am still concerned about with Jordon Scott the only guy I see for sure at the Pac-12 level now
- Guys like Gary Baker could probably help there, but he was on IR today. They could use Austin Faoliu in there as well
- The four freshman DE's, Thibs, Ware-Hudson, Dorlus and Williams will be helpful for sure, maybe even this year. I suspect all four will be solid Pac-12 players before they are done.
- Later today we have interviews with Coach Cristobal, Brady Breeze and Isaac Slade-Matautia
- All for now
