I don't recall a guy coming out of nowhere like Popo. He is really coming on and giving fat Mac plenty of rest. He is really quick for his size and he is usually in the backfield. He is fast becoming a co-starter type guy. When you watch film , you will see they are not losing anything when he is on the field
Other defenders that get me excited
1) MJ Cunningham is also quick for his size. He took Dye's place and was always around the ball. Not saying he is Dye, but he is bigger and moves really well
2) Great young corners. DJ James was flying around. Needs to quit grabbing receivers , but I love the way he played. I didn't see Wright, but he is going to be great based on what I saw in earlier games. These freshman corners as good or better than the excellent duo ahead of them
3) Mase Funa and Kevon - Yes, we all know they are doing it right now, but what will they be like after a year in the strength program? Both these guys could be 1st round round pics. Kevon need to add some good weight and Funa maybe slim down a little bit. They are only scratching the surface. DJ Johnson in this group as well
Tho is entire defense really fly's around. Their confidence is sky high. Avalos is a huge upgrade in scheme and also attitude. He is a young guy and it's obvious the players love playing hard for him. Great depth right now and a bright future for this defense. It maybe be even better next season
It seems to me that this staff are great evaluator's. They are getting more 4 and 5 star guys, but also a higher percentage of those guys are living up to their ratings
