Ordinarily I don't care a lick about the NFL, but it's an interesting story for Duck fans this year with a great Duck slated to go early in the draft, something that's very good for the future of Oregon football.

There's even speculation that Kayvon Thibodeaux will make it three in a row next year, perhaps even as the overall number one.

As for Sewell, many consider him a generational left tackle with a Hall of Fame future (former Cowboys GM Gil Brandt is in that camp) but in NFL camps, they second guess everything.

The first three teams are all taking quarterbacks.

Tyler Dragon of the Cincinnati Enquirer says the Bengals, at number five, need help on the offensive line (they gave up 48 sacks last year) but will instead select receiver JaMarr Chase of LSU and reunite him with Joe Burrow. Star receiver A.J. Green left the team via free agency this off season.

In Detroit, who picks 6th, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press speculates the Lions may pick Northwestern tackle Rashawn Slater over Sewell.

"I had a scout speculate to me the other day that the Lions might go Rashawn Slater over Sewell if both are on the board," Birkett writes. "Slater is the safer pick, and can play any position. But Sewell is a stud with the potential to be one of the premier tackles in the game."
