The PAC 12 Track and Field Championships will take place this weekend. For 15 straight seasons the Oregon men have won the conference team Title. That streak will end this weekend. However, the good news is that Oregon’s 100m prodigy, Micah William will be competing. It won’t be a cake walk for him to win.
The sprint talent is formidable this year. For the Oregon men the big excitement should be the 100m and the 4x100 relay. Here’s to hoping that the Ducks take home bragging rites
in the short sprints…. Go Micah!
The big show will be the team battle between the USC and Oregon women for the PAC 12 team title. Chile’s form chart has the Trojan women winning by a slim margin. However, Chile would be the first to tell you that form charts are just a measuring stick for scoring how things are going. Form charts are not a forecast.
By now we all know that Shana Grebo will be back in an Oregon singlet. It is hard to know how the coaches will use her. We know that she’ll run the 400 hurdles. She is capable of contributing big time in the 4x400, 400, and the 200. It is hard to imagine Shana entering that many events. I’m sure that she will be in the 400h and the 4x400. After that, it is hard to say if she’ll enter another event. Trust me, she’ll have her hands full. There is a lot of quality competition standing in Shana’s way. In a recent interview she sounded confident and enthusiastic. This will be interesting!
The match up between the USC and Oregon women promises to be a great matchup. It will hurt to see the men’s streak end, but a PAC 12 women’s team Championship would help to ease the pain.
