We are nearing some important anniversaries in American History this month and next, along with two of the most famous echo’s to come down to us in our national history.
April 19, 1775. The battles at Concord and Lexington and the “Shot Heard Round The World” which started the War of American Independence. The American commander, Captain Parker ordered his men: “Stand your ground. Do not fire unless fired upon, but if they want to have a war, let it begin here”.
June 17, 1775. The battle of Bunkers Hill and the famous order of “Don’t fire until you see the whites of their eyes”.
